Brought up very similar proposal months ago (traf 2 years ago). The very same people who rejected it (or barely entertained it) all of a sudden think it’s a great idea when Big Whale makes the proposal instead? Alignment of economic incentives next? 😊

Need a few more million SP so peepz will listen. Or maybe just wait for something else..

If I had a STEEM for every time I've made a suggestion that was laughed at, only for it be accepted by the ones laughing as soon as the same suggestion was made by an Important Steemian, I'd have so much STEEM, I'd be an Important Steemian.

·

But you ARE an important Steemian!

Oh, wait...no...

You’re a sad man and not a good Steemian. You know what you should do?

we need facts and logic lol

I'm really glad you mentioned this. I totally agree and thought of Traf's post several times this week.

When I remember my view of that post, I realize I have learned a lot. I had no concept of needing to fund changes and have diversity in development projects.

I assume you are talking about the Dev Fund brought up this week by both Ned and now blocktrades.

·

Oh which post? Traf made two proposals last couple of years, here's the other one besides the one on economic incentives: https://steemit.com/steemit/@trafalgar/a-problem-in-the-economics-of-steemit

I think it was the other one I remembered. What I do remember is the suggestion we should create a development fund. Not sure which post it was and that tons of people commented on it.

He normally got huge votes, so my assumption at the time was he was put up to it by SteemIt Inc. Because he was normally just funny.

The place seemed really crocked to me at the time and especially due to the same people finding all the ways to take all the rewards. :)

I do think we need a Dev Fund.

I feel slightly betrayed. I thought you opposed them at that time for purely genuine reasons. Reasons that will actually make the blockchain better.

As long as you have millions of Steem Power

The key is to get Steemit Inc to fund it, which I hope is more possible now than in the past.

I can't say for sure, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say there is a correlation between the volume of desperate, delusion, dreamers (tripleD) present now vs then that makes the implementation of change a necessity. Basically, most people are either too full of pride or stupidity to be motivated until it's too late.

Wahhhh... Got new project call Bit Ching Quietly izit? So the symbol is BCQ correct? When ICO? Got airdrop or not? 🤣

Don't worry, it only means you guys were and are visionaries.

traf's a great economist and very clear headed!

To be honest we do find the logic in your proposals. Especially 50% curation rewards.

I have the same problem in that people generally don't seem to care if you don't have a significant ammount of SP. Never thought you'd have that problem though!

Maybe people laughed because it seemed unrealistic or alien at the time?

·

Nah.. They laughed because they felt Kevin and Traf were gonna profit from it. It never mattered if it was going to work. Nobody cared about that.

Thanks to this video, I knew their proposal was never going to be worse than what we currently have now.

·
·

Even now, there are sceptics accusing bt of doing it just to make profit.

·
·
·

Because somehow it is a taboo for someone to make profit in a free market. Never mind the value the person is bringing to the table

·

Nah no one laughed. It really is just the limits of human communication (and understanding).

It's almost like rich people are bad and true freedom of speech doesn't exist.
