The mining Corporation has published a new report on its own bitcoin mining operations. Coindesk analysts suggested that the company could suspend 130 thousand pieces of equipment AntMiner S9.
Chinese mining giant Bitmain has reduced computing power by almost 88%. According to the company, when mining cryptocurrencies on the SHA256 algorithm, the hashrate was 237.29 PH/s. At the same time, in April this figure reached 2,072 PH/s, and in March 1,700 PH/s. It also became known that the share of the Beijing company in the total hashrate of the bitcoin network fell tenfold – from 4% to 0.4%.
Coindesk experts suggested that the company could withdraw 130 thousand antminer S9 units from the mining business. Representatives of Bitmain have not yet commented on the reduction of the hashrate.
The first report on the available mining capacity was published by the Corporation in July last year. Then the hashrate of the equipment on SHA-256 was 1692 PH/s. In early March of this year, researchers of the portal ChainDD said that almost 74.5% of the bitcoin network hashrate control mining pools included in the structure of Bitmain.
At the end of April, it became known that the Corporation launched sales of ASIC-miner Antminer T17. The device is designed for mining cryptocurrency Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. The model is equipped with a new generation chip.
