Wildlifephotography in Linz last Weekend

9개월 전

This weekend i did some wildlifephotography near Linz together with Stefan. We went to a small lake nearby to take some pictures of animals most of them birds. Because it is getting warmer and warmer on some birds the mating season startet. So things are getting interesting for me. It was now a long time in winter when it was pretty hard to take some pictures of animals, but now in spring it is getting better every week and more and more animals are either coming back from the south or wake up from their hibernation sleep.

At the lake we found some tufted ducks swimming around and watching us. I like their beautiful yellow eyes that shine so perfectly from the dark feathers. We where lucky that they where not so shy and we were able to get some pretty nice closeup shots from them. We also found som Eurasian wigeons. But to get some pretty close pictures like i did you will really need a long lens with a good focal lengh. Eventhough they come close they still have some respect from you and don't come too close.

A lot of the bird are already collecting some nesting material to build their nests for their offspring. It was very nice to watch them for several hours. The weather was fine and i really enjoyed a nice day in the nature. I hope for several nice days this spring so i can take some nice macro shots of flowers soon. Last weekend some of my friends in vienna already showed me several beautiful flower pictures.

Last but not least i also found a squirrel last sunday. It was looking for some food on the ground and we where luck to shoot some pictures. Funny that there is so much wildlife on the cementaries. The picture of the squirrel was taken on a cementary in Linz, and i know that i will visit the big Cementary in Vienna for some wildlifephotography this spring and summer also for several times. Because there it is not so difficult to get some nice pictures of animals like squirrels or hamsters and birds because the animals are used to poeples and therefore you can get much much closer to them than in real wildlife. Urban wildlife photography is still a bit easier for me.
