When we forget our experiences, we fail to glorify GOD and appreciate what HE does for us.
I want to talk about four things you must remember as we journey through this year 2019.
For this "part one" we will be looking at;
1. REMEMBER YOUR JOURNEY
We are all on a journey. This year is part of that journey. It helps to see life as a journey. It started from somewhere and it is going somewhere. To appreciate the journey you’re on, you have to remember the following …
a) THE PAST:
Where GOD picked you from. Each one of us has a beginning point. Our past is where GOD took us out of.
Never forget to note where GOD started with you. Think of where you were a year ago, five years ago, ten years ago … in some other cases, twenty years ago or more.
Think of where you were before CHRIST came into the picture. What were you greatest burdens? What was your state of mind? Remember where you were?
“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.”
“By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.”
b) THE PRESENT:
Where GOD has brought you to. Consider how far the LORD has brought you.
Until you know where you started from, you cannot appreciate how far you have come.
Without landmarks it is impossible to appreciate progress made. Consider what CHRIST has done in your life. Just mere thinking of it now…Can you see any difference?
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
c) THE PROMISE:
Where GOD is taking you to. No matter the progress you make, keep your eyes fixed on the place GOD promised you.
Your current reality is not the end of your journey. GOD has more to do in your life.
In the journey of life, there will be many bus stops along the way but always keep moving till you arrive where GOD called you to be.
What GOD has in store for you is far more than what you’ve experienced. There is a Promised Land for you.
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”
Along your journey, many people have crossed your path. I want you to remember the significant people you have dealt with this year. These are the people that made 2018 what it turned out to be in experience.
Our world is full of people. On any given day, you come in contact with people. Each one of those people will, most likely, have an impact on your life. So, the next point is to remember the people. This we will look at in part 2
