Waving lights in the dark - Urbex and lightpainting, two of my favourite things

지난달

Another enjoyable Saturday evening spent in an abandoned factory; some people go out clubbing or maybe to a fancy restaurant; I prefer to visit a derelict, desolate ruin and wave lights at it.

To create this shot, I positioned a Godox strobe at the back of the frame gelled blue. First I fired the flash behind my willing victim aka volunteer then replaced the lens cap without ending the exposure. I then prepared the home made LED light stick, removed the lens cap and moved quickly behind the subject to wave the lights. Job done.

This image was created in one photographic exposure and is not a Photoshop creation. The camera used was a Sony A7 full frame camera with a Sony Zeiss 16-35mm lens.

About me: I specialise in shooting lightpainting images all in one photographic exposure which involves different elements with different lenses and tripods.
