Hello guys. Today I'd like to show you how to prepare Cannelloni with spinach and cheese. This form of pasta has been a part of Italian cuisine for many centuries. The Italian immigrants to the United States have created their, slightly different, version known as Manicotti. If you can't find cannelloni shells at your local shop you might use manicotti instead. Cannelloni, like other pasta, can be cooked with different fillings. This filling is prepared using not only ricotta cheese but also adding parmesan and mozzarella to create the desired flavor.
280g of cannelloni or manicotti shells
1/2kg of ricotta cheese
180g of mozzarella cheese, grated
60g of parmesan cheese, grated
350g of spinach
800g of spaghetti sauce
1 large onion, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
2 teaspoons of minced parsley
1/2 liter of water
Use two separate bowls for the filling and the sauce. Preheat the oven to 180C. In the filling bowl mix ricotta cheese with spinach, onion, egg, parsley, pepper, garlic, mozzarella and parmesan. In the sauce bowl mix the spaghetti sauce with water. Fill each cannelloni shell. Grab a cup of sauce and cover the bottom of the baking tray so the pasta doesn't stick. Lay stuffed cannelloni parallel into the baking tray. Cover with the remaining sauce and bake in the preheated oven for one hour or until you feal the pasta reaches its optimum softness. Your Cannelloni with spinach and cheese are now ready. Bon pppetit!
