The past 7 years I've been running my business with my brother and it's been quite a journey. With lotsa ups and downs we're now steadily moving towards a more positive destination and I'm glad I didn't give up though I did think of it many times.
With that said, you can be sure that at my food truck, you're getting lotsa love, bloody, sweat and tears into each bun... well figuratively speaking of course. A lot of thought has been put into each creation and we're definitely a firm believer in giving our very best for every thing that we do.
Here's one of my most recent creation. I did do this before about 5 years back but I've made some improvements since and it's been a hit with the fans. It's always a great feeling to see our customers smiling and getting rave reviews after they take a bite of our burgers. That's a reward in it of itself.
If you talk about living the dream, I definitely wake up every morning giving thanks for my life and during difficult times, I try to find things to give thanks about. Even little things like having food to eat every day and I'm not begging on the streets.
So what do I actually do on a daily basis? Well I'm only open 2 days a week and another day in the week I'm doing prep. So that's about 3 days a week worth of work. On my other days I get to explore and do other stuff like watching educational videos, read books or articles, watch TV, follow sports like the NBA, play video games, spend time with my family.
But this kindda luxuries of time doesn't come at a price. Since I'm not working most days, I don't have pockets full of cash. I just work with what I have and barely or close to no savings at all. So I do have lesser money, but I got more time and I suppose other people with more money would have less time doing whatever else asides from work.
I guess we all sacrifice something in our lives and we've gotta live with our decisions in the future. I for one can readily acknowledge that I don't know the future but definitely have confidence that all will be well.
We don't have to envy the lifestyle of other people. Learn to be thankful and contended with whatever season of life you're in. It's easier said than done but I can guarantee you that if you follow through on tough decisions you've made in your life, you'll be celebrating that you did follow through when it's all said and done.
For me, a part of my life wouldn't be as it is if I gave up on my business. I'm glad I saw it through during the most difficult part of it... so far that is. I've learn so much about business as well as myself and I really thank God that He has led me to where I am now.
Bless you and may you have a 2020 that'll be full of glorious surprises.
