Moussaka is one of the most classic, authentic and amazingly delicious Greek dishes. It takes a few hours to prepare it, but believe me it worths! Usually, I prefer to change somehow the classic dishes and give them a "modern" note, but this time I made moussaka with the old traditional way, following my granny's recipe.
It is creamy, juicy, smells divine,with luscious layers of beef mince cooked with tomatoes, slices of zucchinis, eggplants and potatoes(all vegetables from my yard), homemade rich bechamel sauce, Greek cheese (kefalograviera), some olive oil, salt , pepper, thyme,cinnamon and nutmeg. Moussaka is soo satisfying and irresistible.!It is usually served warm, after baking, but any leftovers you have will be doubly good the next day..
