Ducati Lenovo Team racer, Francesco Bagnaia (Italy), won the first podium in the Dutch MotoGP in 2022. Monster Energy Yamaha racer, Fabio Quartararo, had two accidents and failed to finish. In the race which took place at the Assen circuit, the Netherlands, on Sunday (26/6/2022), Francesco Bagnaia touched the finish line after completing 26 laps with a time of 40 minutes 25.205 seconds.
In the second position was occupied by Money VR46 driver Marco Bezzecchi and Aprilia Factory driver Maverick Vinales (Spain) in third position. While Vinales' partner, another Aprilia driver, Aleix Espargaro took fourth place and was followed by Red Bull KTM's Brad Binder in fifth. The sixth position is occupied by Ducati Lenovo racer, Jack Miller (Australia).
Monster Energy Yamaha racer, Fabio Quartararo had two accidents in the 2022 Dutch MotoGP. The first accident occurred when the race had only been running for four laps. This accident involved Aleix Espargaro, but both drivers were able to continue the race. A few laps later Fabio Quartararo had another accident which caused the French racer to fail to finish the race due to a highside at corner five.
This victory became the third highest podium that was achieved by Francesco Bagnaia in the MotoGP event in 2022. Bagnaia became the previous champion in the Spanish MotoGP and Italian MotoGP. In the drivers' standings Francesco is still stuck in fourth place with 106 points. Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo is still safe in the first position of the 2022 MotoGP standings with 172 points. Aleix Espargaro is in second place with 151 points and is followed by Prima Pramac Racing's Johann Zarco with 114 points.
