Mafia 2 : Definitive Edition - Were Graphical Adjustments Sufficient?

A few days ago, the game Mafia 2: Definitive Edition was released on all platforms from the publisher's company 2K and developer of the beloved Mafia series, but when the studio revealed its plan to publish it as a graphically improved version, I only had a set of mixed feelings, and it would be unfair to judge it by today's standards in terms of style Gameplay, the open world, and other things. In the end, we will judge by our experience and our world today so let us talk quickly about the graphic level of the game.

The game is released on Steam platform at a price of $ 30 alone or at a price of $ 60 within the Mafia Triple Package, which includes the first part of the game, which will be released in August with the improved versions of the second and third parts, which are now available.

As for operating requirements, they are as follows:

Mafia 2 Def. Edi. Recommended Requirements:

Operating system: windows 8.1 64bit
Processor: Intel i7-3770 or AMD FX 8350
Graphics card: 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 or 4GB AMD Radeon R9 290X
Storage space: 50 GB

Mafia 2 Def. Edi. Minimum Requirements:

Operating system: windows 8.1 64bit
Processor: Intel i5-2500K or AMD FX-8120
Graphics card: 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or 2GB AMD Radeon HD7870
Storage space: 50 GB

In fact, the reasonable and appropriate requirements may be the first time that I talk about accuracy of the highest quality as if it is the presumed and appropriate, and this is because the game was issued a long time ago, the devices were not as strong as they are now and so the devices should have been able to run easily and smoothly.

In order to run the game easily and smoothly at 1080P resolution you will need a graphics card above 1060 from NVIDIA

The game suffers from many Frame Drops inside and places a huge load on your central processor and this is very strange for this great pressure on the processor or even on the frame rate.

Graphic improvements:

Of course, this is the one that I’ve mainly entered into, and this’s the one that you care about and that everyone will care about,

Most of the graphical improvements come to the game's colors in addition to its clarity and shadows as well as Textures or surfaces and the accuracy and clarity of the details.

The first thing that you will notice significantly and clearly when the game starts - and what will give it a more beautiful look - is that 2K messes around and changes a lot in the lighting and coloring of the game,

This improvement also reached shadows and textures where they became more noticeable, so that the shadows are no longer Pixelated as they were in the past but now they look more real than the old version, whether it is with colors or with details of faces such as different and wrinkled skin wrinkles.

Also, you will notice these changes dramatically and very dense and you will feel that you are trying a different game from what it was in the past.

One of the things that helped improve the Textures is the ability to add more details and increase the drawing distance very significantly,

Finally, Mafia II: Definitive Edition comes to life to one of the classic of the games that we all grew up in, which breathes life into many old games and greatly improves its experience.

Not to mention the big performance problems that this Remaster suffers, but everyone knows that everything that happens with Mafia 2, which we will most likely see in it a real development on the gameplay and the various cinematic scenes within it.
