Life is unique and you have to enjoy it. Leading a life without worries and without the torment of anguish, leads us to have a healthy and comfortable life. The true life is hidden in Christ. He came that we may have life and have it abundantly. Having the life of Christ in us guarantees us to have beautiful and eternal treasures in heaven. Life does not consist of the vastness of the assets that we can possess. Christ is the way, the truth and the life. Therefore, one should strive to have a guarantee of a great treasure in heaven, since on earth everything is temporary and vain.
19 Do not make yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves undermine and steal; 20 but make yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts, and where thieves do not undermine nor steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.
Matthew 6: 19-21 New King James Version (RVR1960)
I met a great friend, although very wealthy and with many possessions, he never cared to seek to serve God with his life and possessions. One day, criminals entered his house, beat him, tied him up and then shot him, taking his life. They took a certain amount of money, they stole his latest model car, in short, they brought him many goods that this man had accumulated in his secular life. Unfortunately he started from this life without Christ and it is very painful to say the place where he can be found right now.
This friend put a lot of effort into his life working and managing businesses and other activities that produced a lot of economic income, however, this tragic thing happened in his life, where he unfortunately lost it.
The other goods he left were distributed among the sons and wife he left in this earthly life.
The word we read at the beginning of this publication clearly tells us: "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break in and steal."
This word does not say that we should not strive to have our goods, but that we should not have the desire to accumulate wealth on earth, because they are uncertain and are incentives for thieves to come and steal everything you have accumulated as wealth. This was what happened to my friend, who after a long time trying and working tirelessly to accumulate his treasures, the criminals came and stole him and took his life.
The word of the Lord recommends that we strive first that our treasures be in heaven and not on earth. In heaven there are no thieves or anything that can produce corruption. Making treasures in heaven implies that the goods that we may possess on earth are invested in the Lord's work so that we can win souls for the kingdom of God.
When we invest our money in the Lord's work and this causes us to preach the word and souls are saved, you begin to create your treasures in heaven.
I remember when I received the Lord Jesus as savior, I was still working in the best company in the country and had saved a certain amount of money, God put in my heart to buy a vehicle for the church where I meet, and the moment we started the work of evangelization in various places of the Anzoátegui State / Venezuela, and we traveled in that vehicle, where we had to preach, there many souls were converted and we founded several churches.
The vehicle he had donated to the church became a great blessing to evangelize and for souls to be saved.
There are many ways to make treasures in heaven, only the great investment begins with the assets we have on earth.
Do not forget, dear reader, that what you invest here on earth is multiplied by God and also assures you a great treasure in heaven.
