Family is the essence of every church, community and society at large. Where a family succeed, then the society succeeds. When the family is in chaos, then the peace of the society is at stake. God is interested in families and so is Satan. However, we are victorious through Christ.
It is a great privilege to celebrate the 2020 International family day and I so bless God for His express love towards the families of the world. Looking back at my biological, faith and blockchain family, I see God's goodness and mercies.
I decide to tag this address "The Covenant and Blessings of Family Worship" on remembering great men in the scripture who took their stand for the Lord a and with their families. It is crucial that we look into theirs lives as we commemorate today so that we can learn how to live our the purpose of families as designed by God for families.
I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.” - Genesis 18: 19 (New Living Translation)
The above verse of the scripture pictures a man of faith - Abraham, who earned God's own commendation to have the capacity of leading his family to walk with God. We see God pronounce a blessing to man such as Abraham.
It is crucial to take some good time to reflect as heads or as family members how we have unitedly championed the course of following God. God knows the power of collaboration and unity and scripture to this effect stated that one can chase a thousand but two shall chase tens of Thousands.
Abraham's success in keeping and leading his family in the ways of God became a generational transferable trait. Jacob got to learn this by the help of God and also commanded his household to put away other Gods that cannot serve and pay their obeisances to the only true God.
So Jacob told his household and all who were with him, "Get rid of the foreign gods that are among you. Purify yourselves and change your garments. - Genesis 35:2
Such charge to purity at the family level is lacking in many homes and God desires to help us out of this mess. As we cerebrate families today with material gifts, we should not forget to point them too to the Jesus and Him alone crucified on the cross. The morality of the society is dependent to the extent of family purification. When the family misses this, we see all sort of ungodly activities and lifestyle plaguing the society.
Be like Joshua!
But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.” - Joshua 24: 15 (New Living Translation)
The courage that was exhibited by Joshua is amazing, amidst the rebellion of the people of Israel. Joshua understood that an injury to one is an injury to all. This made him invest in his family and became an example for Israel.
DO you also remember the the centurion of the Italian Regiment - Cornelius. He revered God with his family and this endeared God's favour and salvation for hims elf and his family.
He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. -
HeartChurch is and celebrates Family - Father, Mother, Children
The HeartChurch is much concerned with the growth of families. We belief that the society and nations of the world all emanated from families. When the family is well taken care of then the society will get healed. We appreciate in our communities, fathers, mothers, youths and children ad we do celebrate their uniqueness in every sense.
It is time we again strengthen the bonds of love among our families and see God release the promised blessing. God said "Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised”. The essence of God allowing families as recorded in Malachi 2: 15 was for godly seeds to be raised.
I pray that the Lord will heal all families that are broken today - Amen.
