Upon reading this article we get the impression that only new cryptocurrency exchanges are involved in wash trading and that the practice is unique to cryptocurrencies and not prevalent in other exchanges like the stock exchanges. The questions that we need to ask are:
a) Is it possible that even the most popular and prestigious cryptocurrency exchanges were guilty of this practice when they started of and ceased doing so once they established themselves?
b) Is it possible that some of these established cryptocurrency exchanges are still involved in such practices to promote specific new currencies that they have been engaged to promote for a profit?
c) Is it possible that such practices are still taking place in the other non-cryptocurrency exchanges of the countries where corruption is prevalent or possible and the supervisory authorities can be bought over?
