If you've been following my attempts to cultivate wild oyster mushrooms, then you'll definitely want to check this one out. I'm actually making some progress!! I've have several clusters of Pleurotus ostreatus growing from my bucket. Now, these were raised in my house; cultivated from wild mushrooms I harvested over the winter.
I guess my next step is to see if I can extend this out to a second generation.
A Quick update on my second attempt at cultivating the wild oyster mushrooms I harvested from the woods behind my house. It is working! Several small clusters of fruiting bodies have begun to protrude from the holes in my cardboard-filled bucket. But, the learning process continues. I'm having a little bit of trouble keeping things from drying out, and I've noticed where something has been munching on my mushrooms. I'm definitely going to have to do something about this.
