steemingcurators1.1.png

Hello, my beloved steemingcurators community members! It's been a while since I really visited this community which I myself started back then but kind of abandon it because my focus was entirely on The Steem Greeters Team Project. Now that the members of the team have increased and I have delegated some works for all members to shoulder, I finally have a little bit extra time for this steemingcurators community. @ciska actually been complaining that I have putting much of my time on newcomers that I have totally abandoned by accident not intentionally this community. Now she is sulking away somewhere and I didn't hear from them for almost a month now 🙄.

So here I am back kicking off this community again. Sorry if I will crash the party you all been enjoying here without us. I will be dropping some kind of bombing news to all of us for the long run but maybe not so great news for those of you who been enjoying the way this community in abandoned mode from us admins.

The great news is that I am back 😆! Not so great news is that the membership criteria for this community might not be great for some of you.
I will go into the boring details below so you all be clear about what I'm expecting from the community members from now onwards.

Let us start with :

Steemingcurators Vision and Mission

Vision

To become a strong self-sufficient community that strives to bring value to the community on Steemit and Steem Blockchain as a whole.
For now, The Steemit Team is supporting the community members post with short term stimulus upvote. They will not be giving this out for eternity, so we as a community have to start building and "saving" the community account steem power @steemingcurators so we still get to survive even after no more economy upvote stimulus from The Steemit Team.

Mission

  • To become one of the strongest and vibrant communities on Steemit.
  • To help everyone on Steemit who want to build their steem power and also join hands in building @steemingcurators community account to become self sufficient community with the mission on having the SP of 500K SP and beyond.

Community Guidelines

  • For now, we only accept content that is for participating in the community challenges or contests that running on Steemit. For example The Diary Game challenges and also A Better Life with Steem, the 7 themes that The Steemit team has announced on their blogpost 1000 DAYS OF STEEM : A Better Life with Steem - new Content and Curation Project and all the ongoing contest/challenges that organized by The Steemit Team and Steem Community.

  • No cross-chain farmer, No Plagiarism.

  • Please abide by the concept of Proof of Brain as explained here

  • Give your feedback/advice in a constructive manner if any.

  • Make yourself useful to the community and the world as a whole.

  • Engagement is the key to the thriving community, please comment on at least 3 other members post in the community before posting your own post link in the community discord link for curation.

  • Please use relevant tags to your post.

Community Membership

We want to build the community account @steemingcurators so that it becomes self-sufficient and for this to happen it would need all the members to join hand building up its steem power through delegation or following the curation trail of @steemingcurators on https://auto.steemdb.online/

The Membership will be categorized based on their delegation to the community account @steemingcurators account and also by the Level of their Steem Power following @steemingcurators curation trail.

Delegators to the community appreciated and will be given vote preferences for their content in the community.
We will do our best in building this community so we will get to be considered into The Communities Support Program, proposed by The Steemit Team as explained in this post 1000 DAYS OF STEEM : The Communities Support Program

Delegators also will be given a monthly payout of 10% APR of their total delegation. Please notify us on the steemingcurators's community post comment section or reach out to me on steemingcurators discord.

@cryptokannon

While we understand the rationale behind this, the current policy of instant (and retro) muting is causing a lot of ill-will and bad feeling amongst the community.

We strongly suggest you unmute the muted posts and introduce this change more gradually with a process of politely warn first, mute later.

Thank you

PLEASE NOTE EVERYONE - the SteemingCurators Community is not connected with Steemit, Inc or The Diary Game. It is run independently by members of the community.

·

Thank you for the suggestion. I think this post has received enough publicity already and we hope everyone has noticed it through the instant muted. We will now start the awareness slowly, and surely the message will get across finally. Thank you for your concern and feedback.

·
·

Will you be unmuting the muted posts? Particularly the Diary Game and My Town in 10 Pics posts - as it makes it more difficult for us to curate them when they are muted.

Thank you

·
·
·

sorry for the inconvenience, I will unmute those post now.

That is great, thank you

What a pleasure to see you leading again, @cryptokannon
As Michael Jordan said: Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. It is necessary to stay together and that everyone can offer the best of himself to move the team forward. We must understand, once and for all, that although we work individually, the results are reflected in the collective. Union is strength and without commitment there is no guaranteed success. Greetings and count on me. Saludos y Éxitos

·

Hi @nancybriti thank you for your support and inspiring quotes that you shared with us to lift our spirit. Thank you for being there with us since the beginning.

@cryptokannon Creo que es un excelente programa para hacer creer la comunidad, debemos estar comprometidos y entender que si crece Steem crecemos todos!

Suerte con este proyecto 😉

@edlili24 thank you for your support!

Hi @Cryptokannon. I am from Venezuela. I would be honored to be part of your team. You could take a look at my blog so you can verify the quality level of my contents and the methodical way I work on my blog.

Wishing you good day, it's up to you,

Ulises Flores.

·

Hi @ulisesfl17 Thank you for your support. Please join us in the steemingcurators discord too. I will be waiting for your DM on discord so we can discuss on the community moderator and curation.

Dear @cryptokannon

Friend of mine shared with me link to your publication. And I'm not sure if you value my feedback or not. I understand your reasons and thought process, however I believe that measures introduced are to drastic. And will only result with you losing many valuable members and many people being upset that their post is being muted (I consider it myself to be worse than receiving downvote).

I only figured that perhaps my 2 cents will make you think twice about your solution.

ps. out of curiousity -> how do you support your community members? Your expectations are quite drastic, so I presume that you're capable of giving those who participate something in return (that's how we all humans work, in community mutual benefit is crutial). Do you manage some account with solid SP, which you can use to support those who follow those strict rules?

Yours, Piotr

·

Hi @crypto.piotr thank you for your concern and of course as part of Steemit Community, I appreciate any constructive feedback if that will bring improvement to the community as a whole.

I think we admins have "abandoned" this community, without any rules for more than 4 months already.. and the users who been posting in steemingcurators community have received quite good support from The Steemit Team curation. I believe if they regularly post on this community, they have received quite good earning already and can afford to delegate to the community curation account, or at least join the curation trail for valid membership, note that we don't put any amount of SP to join there.

I agree with you that we been a little bit drastic because we have muted their post so that they pay attention to the community's new guidelines and membership. That's only our intentions.. otherwise, they are welcome to the community as long as they adhere to the community new membership, vision, and mission.

I actually never posted in any community so I don't know the feeling of being muted in any community, I didn't know it will be such a big deal/worst than being downvote as you stated.

The Steemit Team have announced on their blogpost about community support program, they will support any genuine community who wants to build their community SP to become self sufficient. I'm relying on that for now and the constant curation support they give to the users that posted in this community.

Thanks again for your concern and feedback, I appreciate it. 😊

·
·

Appreciate your reply.

I agree with you that we been a little bit drastic because we have muted their post so that they pay attention to the community's new guidelines and membership.

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I do not consider "muting" as something to trastic.

I simply think that introducing new "rules" or ideas need to take time. Executing new rules within the same second when those rules are being implemented - that causes confusion, build feeling of uncertainty and many more negative emotions, which do not help to achieve planned goal.

Also it's important to realize that content discovery is really bad on Steemit. And you won't be able to reach most of your members with this post. That's reality. So warning members and giving them time to learn about upcoming changes -> that perhaps could make things more smooth for you and others.

I actually never posted in any community so I don't know the feeling of being muted in any community, I didn't know it will be such a big deal/worst than being downvote as you stated.

The problem is that your post is then not only muted within community, but is pretty much INVISIBLE on entire chain. Noone will see it on their feed. Content discovery is going all the way to zero.

Stay safe

·
·
·

@crypto.piotr yea I agree on bad content discovery too, but this post as you see being pinned on the trending page of this community. The chance of it being not discovered is low if they come into this community and post their content into this community.

Then I think by muting the post of the users on this community will speed up the reach out. I see it works, just that has some negative effect. But I think they would understand that we just trying to get their attention and reaching out to them as fast as possible. We will unmute their post once they do what needs to be done.

·
·
·
·

Ok, I can wish you only good luck @cryptokannon

Hopefully your decision won't result with your community losing many members.

All the best,

I joined the community a long time ago. However they have silenced my post. Please, I ask you to remove the flag that you have placed for me.
I try to always follow all the rules. So please I thank you for taking my case.

·

@cryptokannon. I am very disappointed with the measure that @ boss75 took to silence many publications, for not complying with the new rules, which we did not know. Why didn't you teach us differently? I do not understand. you could draw attention in another way.

·

Hi @inspiracion thank you for interested in joining steemingcurators community.
I have posted this announcement 2 days ago and I think if the community members care about this community announcement that I have pinned on the top of the community page, they will have known the changes in the community membership. I hope you have understood the membership requirement through this post now. If not, I will ask Country Representative that speaks your language to help me doing the explanation. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

·
·

@cryptokannon I have only 4 days that I decided to write here in Steemit again, after months of absence I have tried to catch up with the new rules. You can understand that there are still many things to keep in mind to update me.
I think your measure has been severe.
They have silenced posts that are for contests.
This makes me consider that I should leave this community since they are very radical to take action with their own members.
Anyway, thank you very much, this has happened serves as an experience for me to be more careful to decide which community I should join.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
It has not been my intention to break any rules.
Many users we are careful and respectful of the rules of steemit, I regret this event.
Have a nice day.

Hi @inspiracion I'm truly sorry about the traumatic experience that you get through post muting. We were trying to get people's attention to the new policy on membership. I hope you will found the community that you love and enjoy being part of soon.
We welcome everyone to write in this community and hope they will join us to build this community becoming stronger and committed by becoming official members too.
Wish you more happiness and good fortune in life. 😊

I am very grateful that the measures you have taken have been reconsidered. I believe that the best way to win people's will is by winning their trust.

Thanks a lot. I also wish the best for you and for the community.
Greetings and blessings.

Hi @cryptokannon I know that for many Venezuelan users this is frowned upon, I totally agree with these changes because they allow us to grow and have more control over what we can and cannot do here at Steemit. I totally agree that all the publications are 100% Steem Power, this way we can grow quickly without squeezing the platform as many of us did in previous occasions.

Following the healing route.

Thank you, I have some more extra questions for you. Check out your DM on discord.

Please im interested in working with this great community as a curator. Thank you

·

Hi @bryan2000 please complete the newcomers achievement program first as I see you are still new on Steemit.

·
·

And how do i do that please?

Hello @cryptokannon
I understand that each community must seek ways to grow, inviting people to join and support.
I understand this very well.
But, arbitrarily silencing all publications, even those that were before these rules were set, does not seem to me to be a very good option.
All change generates resistance, it is logical, but even more so when it is done in this way.
I know that every community has the right to do what it thinks is best. But acting in a way that generates some displeasure in many people is not the way to do it.
I was silenced by a publication that I made long before these new rules were implemented. I respect their decision, everyone has the right to do what they think is best.

and I understand perfectly about the memberships, what you are looking for, I just think, even if you are not asking anyone's opinion, that the way is not the best...

Still, I hope you have a great growth.

·

Hi @josevas217 thank you for your understanding. The post muting was announced 2 days ago. It is more like a call to action to the community members. Else nobody cares to read the community announcement. Everyone is welcome to the community if they adhere to the enhanced community membership. We think muting the post is the best way to get attention to the new membership term and condition. Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it.

·
·

If it is true we must read the updates, but my post one was made before you published the one of the new rules and it is what the friend says, those that were before the new rules because to silence them.

·
·

@cryptokannon

Personally, silencing my work that took me more than two hours to do it, and a whole day compiling the published material if it caught my attention but in a negative way ... I don't think it's the best invitation !! and I don't want to be part of a Community that invites in a RUDE way !!

·
·
·

Hi @yurilaya sorry that muting your post making your experience on steemit traumatic. I didn't expect that action will get people trauma. Everyone is welcome to write in this community, and we hope that they will want to join us in building this community too by becoming official members. I wish you good fortune and lots of return happiness.

Hopefully the steemingcurator community will continue to grow

·

Thank you for your support.

...Those without any titles of the above will be muted their post by our community moderators after being warned for the first time. Ongoing revision

I am trying to understand your radical action to enforce the provision contained in the publication, but when reading the section called Ongoing revision, I find that the educational measure would be given by a first warning. You have not warned me at any time, I used the community to publish my content, when the publication announcing the changes was 3 hours after being published. Check to verify. link

Hello @bestcofinder
Thanks a lot for your support. @cryptokannon will verify your membership shortly. Have a good day.

I normally just mind my own business here, but for some reason I was drawn to look at other posts to see what is happening here on the Steem Blockchain. I'm actually quite disappointed by what I'm seeing here.

All these years we have complained about vote-selling bots and now we have exclusive communities that use Team Steem support to bribe people into delegating SP. How is that different than the voting bots? You are selling votes and creating exclusive communities. How is EXCLUDING people supposed to BUILD Steem as a whole? Why should Team Steem support certain individuals and not all users of Steem? This information is very disturbing to me. Is @steemchiller part of this Team Steem? He is our #1 witness and I would never have expected him to be a party to the cliques that were killing this platform earlier. The last thing Steem needs is more exclusive groups with control of large amounts of SP. DECENTRALIZATION is supposed to be about spreading control, not funneling it into one or more super-users.

Can't we just create communities of like-minded people just because we enjoy being in a certain community? Why should anyone's content be muted unless it is offensive?

I can understand using muting to control content of those who disrespect the guidelines of a community and post CONTRARY to ESTABLISHED protocol, but to suddenly post new rules and retroactively mute content that falls outside the NEW rules is cruel in my mind. Setting a date for NEW content that falls outside of rules is fine to take action against because people would need to deliberately be breaking the rules at that point.

Anyway, I've said enough. I'm probably one of only a few that actually cares about the welfare of others, so my opinions will likely be ignored anyway.

·

Hi @happyme thanks for your input, we have actually withdrawn that acts of muting instantly and you can see we have apologized to the community for that Steemingcurators Community Announcement 28/October/2020

All these years we have complained about vote-selling bots and now we have exclusive communities that use Team Steem support to bribe people into delegating SP. How is that different than the voting bots? You are selling votes and creating exclusive communities. How is EXCLUDING people supposed to BUILD Steem as a whole? Those people and parties that you mentioned have nothing to do with steemingcurators acts. We did what we did as our independent decision and taking into consideration what the community members suggesting us to do.
We are trying to build a self-sufficient community hereby collectively gather the steem power that we got from the short term financial stimulus STEEM POD Open Discussion Vol.01: Why Dormant account on Steemit? that The Steemit Team is giving out to the community members throughout the writing challenges and contests that they are running. They are helping us so that we can help ourselves.

We do not EXCLUDE anyone in the community, that's not our intention. We were just trying to get people ATTENTION as I'm aware that PEOPLE ATTENTION is so hard to get these days hence the muting post act, and I have learned its offensive for certain vulnerable heart human. If you read our membership requirement there is NO MINIMUM AMOUNT OF SP you can delegate to become official member of steemingcurators. You can even delegate 1SP and gain the official membership, but hopefully, they will gradually increase that in time at their own pace to help the community mission.

I appreciate your concern and your perspective, I just wish that you have read the whole thing to gain better perspective before jumping to a conclusion and accusing people like this. Thanks and good day to you.

·
·

Hello @cryptokannon,

Thank-you for your reply. I actually did read the entire thing and also went to one of the links for the requirements of joining the group. I found it confusing about the levels of minnows who have just 0-500 SP, but are expected to delegate 500 SP? I suspect that I'm mis-interpreting the tables, but that's what I understood from it. I wonder if anyone else would have trouble understanding it.

I think you might not have understood what I wrote, because I know you are doing these things on your own. However, you are getting sponsorship from Team Steem (at least that is what you wrote).

I wouldn't say that I'm jumping to any conclusions, and I'm not accusing anyone of anything... I'm just disappointed by the way things are being done on Steem and expressing that disappointment and the reasons why I'm disappointed. I don't believe that stating disappointment with reasons is to accuse anyone of anything; its just telling my feelings and explaining where they come from. I'm sorry if you felt I was attacking you or your group.

·
·
·

Hi @happyme please show me where is the statement from us about this?

I found it confusing about the levels of minnows who have just 0-500 SP, but are expected to delegate 500 SP?

minnow.png
The table shows Minnow level is if their delegation is LESS THAN 500 SP
Less than 500SP means ANY AMOUNT of Steem Power but we expect them to leave at least 30SP left on their effective SP so they still get enough resource credit to do some posting and commenting on the platform.

However, you are getting sponsorship from Team Steem (at least that is what you wrote).

1000 DAYS OF STEEM : The Communities Support Program This is offered to everyone on Steemit who genuinely wants to build a self-sustainable community on Steemit, not exclusively for me and this steemingcurators community. If you noticed, and look around, Steemit team actually supports everyone's post that adheres to their writing challenge guidelines, also any community that wants to build their community curation account.
I think I have written something that might be misinterpreted by someone on my statement "sponsored by steemit team". I have changed that statement so people won't get confused by that. English is my second language so I might have screwed some words there.

".. now we have exclusive communities that use Team Steem support to bribe people into delegating SP. How is that different than the voting bots? You are selling votes and creating exclusive communities. How is EXCLUDING people supposed to BUILD Steem as a whole? Why should Team Steem support certain individuals and not all users of Steem? This information is very disturbing to me."

I interpret this as an accusation. Or is that your own personal opinion? How is delegating to a community account so we become self-sufficient a bad thing? Do you mean we should depend on the Steemit team curation account forever and ask for more delegation and never think of building our own community account?

".. Is @steemchiller part of this Team Steem? He is our #1 witness and I would never have expected him to be a party to the cliques that were killing this platform earlier. The last thing Steem needs is more exclusive groups with control of large amounts of SP. DECENTRALIZATION is supposed to be about spreading control, not funneling it into one or more super-users."

I interpret this as you labeling us >> a party to the cliques that were killing this platform earlier. The last thing Steem needs is more exclusive groups with control of large amounts of SP. <<
If yes, how did we, these cliques you mention were killing this platform earlier??? I don't get it, are you referring to a former old steem witnesses/communities that gone to Hive? Or us existing steemit user/community that left here?

The last thing Steem needs is more exclusive groups with control of large amounts of SP. DECENTRALIZATION is supposed to be about spreading control, not funneling it into one or more super-users."

If you think this is how the Steemit team running the community now, you are so wrong...I think they have spread the curation wide enough and fair enough to Steemit community members.
Either through community curation accounts steemcurator03(for newcomers)/steemcurator04(African region)/steemcurator05(Spanish speaker users)/steemcurator06(Russian speaking and European users)/steemcurator07(Indian continents users)/steemcurator08(South East Asia users) and manual curation that they are doing with steemcurator01 and steemcurator02.

Are you really following the community development on steemit? I think that you just throwing your disappointment and personal opinion that some are not true and not based on fact. Anyway, thank you for your concern and for sharing your disappointment with me. You are welcome to join our community, we welcome everyone.

Hi @cryptokannon,

You have spent a lot of effort to clear up this issue, so I feel you deserve a good answer. I was too tired and rushed for time, so rambled on and did not make myself clear. I apologize for that.

Please watch this 2-hour video so that you know where I am coming from. I will return to explain in greater detail when I find more time, because it will take me a long time to compose a proper response that hopefully will make sense to you.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

My mistake. I saw the table as how much SP one had determines their level title. I didn't know that was how much they were to contribute. There was another spot where I saw something else, and that got me confused.
I just don't have the time to search for the other spot. I'm still working on a proper response for you but I do need some sleep, so it isn't quite ready yet.

So sorry for taking so long. Here https://steemit.com/hive-175254/@happyme/why-steem-is-falling-and-what-we-can-do-about-it is a response I hope makes more sense.

As for joining your community: I appreciate the offer. The majority of my posts are of my play-by-post adventure games. Would this be the sort of post that fits the community? I also do a weekly promotional post and a weekly contest.

Do you know if it is possible to post to more than one community at the same time? I know we can post to a community and then re-blog to our own blog, but I don't know how to post to one community and then re-blog to another community.

When I finished writing my article, I wanted to check the tags to see what tags I should use for my post, but I couldn't even find any tags! The only thing I could find was the list of communities, and it took a little bit of effort to even find that. I knew what it was I was looking for, but a new user wouldn't even know there is such a thing that they need to find. It is these small things that need to be fixed. There should be a link to the steem wiki always in front of everyone's eyes so that it is handy when there is a question that needs to be answered. All this valuable information could be placed where the graphs for the coin values are sitting now. Who needs to constantly see the value of steem going down? NOBODY! Show us links to things that will help users of steem navigate this technology. Then perhaps the price will begin to go up; and we can find that from Steemworld... it doesn't have to be in front of our faces all the time. Let's move away from focusing on the money for now. Grow the brand FIRST.

I think steempeak.com has this feature to reblog to other community, but not in steemit yet.. yea I agree that steem wiki should be somewhere at those price chart too 😅but steemit has FAQ section on the dropdown menu, unfortunately.. last time they have that most popular tag list but its gone. I wonder when will they put that up again.
