It's my last day here sadly and super gladly. It's been a fun ride but the journey gotta continue.
5 months ago, I was landed in Chile, the empanada land with the intention of staying for 10 days before moving on from Peru to Brazil. Turned out, it was during the time when the COVID-19 situation started to escalate. I didn't think it was going to come all the way from China to Chile. I just underestimated it.. There it came. Chile announced the border closing.
From that day, till today, it's been 5 months.
It's a love-hate feeling when it comes to what I feel about this country. It's so lovely, it's so colorful yet so sketchy and expensive. I just think I have been lucky enough to have come to the beach city, Valparaiso before things escalated even more. 4 months here.. A lot of quarantine, a lot of lockdowns.. but those days came with its package, the friendships, the great meals, many bottles of Chilean wines and load tons of sausages and BBQ nights.
Because of a boredom of doing same things over and over with such limited things to do.. well, 'Quarantine'.. I have actually done some Couchsurfing in the city where I actually have my own big bedroom just to do something new. I met this amiga (girl friend) a few weeks back and we became good friends.
Just before I left, we met up, went for a nice long walk along with a few portraits shot for some good memories of this colorful city of Valparaiso, Chile :)
