Hello, my friends. In recent months, summer has come and we have not fully understood it due to the restrictions on the spread of coronavirus. For me, summer means leisurely walks on the beach, swimming, fleeting romances and refreshing cocktails by the sea. Unfortunately, some of us are forced to stay in our houses to prevent the spread of covid19 and we can't enjoy the summer like the previous years but we can enjoy some tasty cool cocktail in the comfort of our home. So today I decided to share with you some easy cocktail recipes that you make on your own at your home.
The first cocktail recipe that I will share is Surfer on acid. It is very easy to make cocktail, made with Jagermeister, Coconut Rum and pineapple juice. We all know Jagermeister from Jagerbombs which are Jagermeinster with Redbull but many of us are not familiar with other Jager cocktail like Surfer on acid which I am sharing with you today. The combination of Pineapple and coconut is very famous from Pina Colada which is one of my favorite cocktails so when I first read about surfer on acid I was very curious to try it. Jagermeister gives a spicy flavor at the cocktail and it is very tasty, aromatic and very refreshing.
Surfer on acid recipe
30 ml Jägermeister liquer
30 ml Coconut Rum (Malibu)
30 ml Pineapple juice
The method of preparation is very simple. Just shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled glass. If you want the full experience garnish with a piece of pineapple like my photos.
The second cocktail that I am sharing with you today is called Plader punch. In appearance resembles a sunset and has a fruity flavor and many aromas of dark rum which is the main alcohol you need to build it. There are many versions of this cocktail but today I am sharing mine.
Plader Punch Recipe
- 60 ml Dark Jamaican room (I use Myers)
- 20 ml Lime juice
- 15 ml agave syrup
- 2 dash angostura or other aromatic bitters
- 50 ml orange juice
- 3 dash grenadine (pomegranate syrup)
Plader punch is also very easy to make. Just mix all the ingredients in an ice shaker and strain the drink into a glass filled with ice. Optional if you like bubbles at your drink pour some soda on the top of your drink. At last garnish with an orange slice and some spearmint. Beat the spearmint on your hands before you put it on the top of your drinks to smell more while you are drinking your cocktail.
At last but not least I am sharing my favorite cocktail which is super refreshing, very aromatic and I am the creator of it. Last summer I created this cocktail when a customer at the hotel I was working as a bartender asked me for a refreshing cocktail based on a greek spirit. I proposed her to try Skinos which is my favorite greek spirit and it is made of mastiha of Chios. It is an aromatic semi-sweet spirit that I love its flavor and its aromas. I also asked her if she liked cucumber and ginger and after the positive answer of her a new cocktail was born which was a top seller at the hotel I was working because everyone who was drinking it, was asking to drink it again and it was advertised a lot by the waiters to our customers who wanted to try a greek refreshing flavor. I named it skinos fresh delight. If you search online I am sure you can find Skinos liqueur and believe it worth doing it cause its flavor is very special. Below I will write my top-secret recipe. :)
Skinos fresh delight recipe:
- 60 ml mastiha liqueur (skinos)
- 1 cucumber
- 1 small piece of ginger
- 20 ml sugar syrup
- 20 ml lime
Cut the cucumber into small pieces and add them into an ice shaker along with the ginger. With a muddler, press the cucumber and the ginger to release all of their juices. Then add the remaining ingredients and ice, shake for 10 seconds and strain the cocktail into a glass filled with ice. At last garnish with a cucumber stick and you are ready to enjoy one of the tastiest and refreshing cocktail you have ever drink.
