Greetings friends of Steemit.
Leaving aside for a moment the issues related to the current context in our fight against the Coronavirus. Today I want to dedicate myself to a subject, which is becoming fashionable. A belief, which is taking a lot of strength and is changing the way of thinking of many people in the world, I have even met people who follow that precept that is now being cultivated, all this driven by different media including speakers, magazines, TV shows, journalistic reports, and is even present in cinematography.
Likewise, this last field, the cinematographic, paints and sows, in a great way and in a massive way, this way of thinking, known as the famous "Theory of the ancient aliens", also called as "The older brothers" or "The engineers" . It is for this reason that today I will present a production that will make us rethink our beliefs, let's learn more about "Prometheus".
Prometheus is an American film, released in the year 2012. Futuristic science fiction film, was directed and produced by Ridley Scott, and starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron. This production is a prequel to the saga of "Alien, the eighth passenger" that saw the light in the year of 1979, and that was the work with which Ridley Scott rose to fame.
In the year 2089, on the Isle of Skye, off the coast of Scotland, archaeologist couple Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and her boyfriend Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) discover a star map in a cave that they record among the remains of several unknown ancient cultures. They interpret this as an invitation from the forerunners of humanity. Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce), the elderly founder and CEO of the Weyland Corporation, funds the creation of the deep space research scientific vessel called USS Prometheus to follow the map to the far moon of LV-223, several light years from the Earth. Also known as ¨Prometheus¨.
Prometheus ( Titan that challenged the Olympian gods in favor of humans), will again be the source through which humanity discovers the truth, of its origin and the answers of whether we are alone in the universe and the truth of our creation will be revealed.
Although it is true, this production subtly slides the hypothesis, on the theory of the ancient aliens; The film does not focus on that theme, but for many who follow this theme if they allow themselves to be drawn to it. But what does this theory consist of? Basically this belief professes that it was ancient astronauts, older brothers, engineers, or mostly known as aliens, who developed life on planet earth. All this, without having a scientific basis, but thus it has already become a subject of controversy, there is even a cable channel well known worldwide that has been broadcasting for almost 10 years its program "Ancient Aliens", which narrates the historical events of humanity by relating them directly to these beings, influencing the earth.
However, these theories did not come out of nowhere, perhaps the origin of all this is from the archaeological discovery of some tablets from the Sumerian culture (the oldest civilization), which when translated narrate the customs and beliefs of this culture; but the most surprising are the narrations of their religion or come to the case, of their mythology that is as equal or even more surprising than Greek mythology. In short, these tablets narrate the origin of their gods and how they created humans, something that is surprising is how from these stories, other cultures would resemble some of their stories or myths. Perhaps we will delve into this interesting topic later.
With respect to the film, the "Alien" saga is further expanded as it is also these beings, who once again star in yet another plot of the many that already exist, from its inception in 1979, to those made in the 2000s, in a versus with Predators. And by the way, it has already been confirmed, that this saga has more, since this work has its sequel called "Alien: Covenant", and two more are coming to finish the saga.
Finally, so as not to make the post long and trying not to "spoiler", I simply have more to recommend this production, which without being a masterpiece is good, and makes us get out of its plot, even leaving us some extra questions. Without more I say goodbye.
Greetings and thanks.
