[SPA-ENG] Preocupación por el crecimiento del CO2 y el inminente cambio climático// Concern about CO2 growth and Eminent climate change

After decades of negotiation it is surprising to see the absence of actions aimed at slowing down or reversing the annual increases in CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere, far from it have increased for this year in an alarming way.
Scientists and specialists in the field warn of the danger that runs our only home called "Earth" before the alarming figures of CO2 published in the report of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States (NOOA).

Last May 2021, the highest measurements of CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere were recorded, after 63 years of starting this record by the NOOA, the figure reached was 419 parts per million (ppm).

Scientists from NOOA together with the Scripps Institute of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego, made public their concern about this alarming situation, as well as presented a graph (Figure 1), which visualizes an exponential curve, which shows the accelerated growth of CO2 emissions from 1958 to 2020.

These results demonstrate once again that efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in the atmosphere represent a high economic cost that the great world powers, which apparently are not willing to pay, even the potential migration to sources of clean economies oriented to the sustainability of the planet, seems today only a hope of some concerned about the future of our planet.
In the year 2020 despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the indices of CO2 in the atmosphere were not reduced as expected, despite the changes and requirements at the technological level required of countries to continue with the execution of economic activities at distances through teleworking, it seems to have left in the background the priority of allocating resources for the research of technologies that may be able to replace the current systems that pollute our atmosphere so much.

Likewise, the countries that emit the most CO2 for 2017 and the United States (14, 65); Russia (10.56), China (6.51), among others; they have not joined forces to implement and replace the polluting industrial activities they carry out with the use of clean energy such as wind and solar, among others.

Finally, we must make a wake-up call and publicizing this serious problem, the solution of which is before our eyes and which is only up to us to join efforts to determine the eminent climate change that threatens our planet.

Greetings dear @janettyanez your article shows us the cruelest reality of our environment, the great concentrations of carbon dioxide, have turned it into the main greenhouse gas that has accelerated global warming and brings with it great climatic phenomena.

We have observed some sustainable technologies that seek to provide a small solution to the problem, but as you mention in the article, if we do not join efforts between the major polluters and the world in general, we will suffer many meteorological disasters.

Thank you for sharing this important article, have a great weekend !

Hi @amestyj
Certainly this is the case, I hope that the countries will reflect and act in order to reverse this situation.
Thank you for visit and commend.
Happy weekend!
Regards.

Certainly this is an alarming situation, the effects of climate change are notorious and global, and it is a fact that for the main polluting nations to reduce the levels of CO2 emissions represent an economic cost they are not willing to pay, not for the moment, being the great powers the first to breach the agreements on environmental issues. Concrete actions must be taken and energy sources decarbonized as soon as possible to reverse the effects of climate change.

Hi @emiliomoron
I agree with you
I hope that greater commitment and support can be achieved in this regard.

Quoting your information:

Even the potential migration towards sources of clean economies oriented to the sustainability of the planet, seems today only a hope of some concerned about the future of our planet.

Many of the big businessmen, do not care about the damage caused to the environment caused by the practice of their economic activity, not being aware that the planet is the main source of all the resources necessary for the sustenance of humanity, and for them the application of Clean Economy methods that help not to pollute is seen as a loss and not an investment, both for them and for the entire planet.

Thank you for this topic is of great importance.

Hello @chucho27
I agree with you, a sad reality.
Thank you for visit and commend.
Regards.

Hello @janettyanez, I did not expect this news about the increase in O2 emissions this year 2021, I just thought that due to the pandemic the emissions measurements would be lower. And I think you are quite right in saying that industries and large corporations do not intend to pay the high prices of amending their "damage to the environment" and we citizens are what pay the environmental cost of such damage.

·

Hi @tocho2
Many of us had the same expectations regarding the "possible" reduction of covid-19 due to the pandemic, but the results were very frustrating.
Thank you for visit and commend.
Regards.

Greetings @ janettyanez. Unfortunately there is no real commitment from industrialized countries to reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, because it would represent a huge expense that they do not want to make. First would be to change their technology and / or second to reduce their production (this proposal has already been raised at the summits and some countries have committed but without favorable results, I hope that when they change their minds is not too late to reverse the damage to the environment.
