A RAINBOW in My California on a Wednesday Walk

2개월 전

The weatherman predicted rain, and it did... it showered here in MyCalifornia early this morning.

I love light rain showers!

What a treat it was to be able to witness a magnificent rainbow over my house (on the left)and be able to take photos and share it with you!

It fascinates me each and every time when I see the beautiful colors of light in the sky when rays of the sun hit the falling raindrops.

Seeing a rainbow always reminds of the time when as a kid I asked my Dad why rainbows are arched. He told me that rainbows are that way because raindrops that reflect the sunlight are curved.

Rainbows occur when the sun begins to shine while the air is still filled with raindrops.

The colors of the rainbow are in stripes of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Oftentimes the blue color fades out.

This rainbow appear to have my favorite color: pink! The red is almost always seen. Sometimes two rainbows can be seen, like today. Do you see it? It is to the left of the bright rainbow!

A rainbow is really a circle and has no beginning or end.

It has happened only once in my entire life when I was on an airplane descending in the airport of Hawaii... the other passengers and I saw a striking rainbow in a complete circle. It was an awesome sight!

The bottom half of this rainbow (and the many rainbows we see) is hidden because it is below the horizon.

I have to admit that I never outgrew the idea that rainbows are magical bridges across the sky full of colors.

One of these days my tiny yorkie will cross that rainbow bridge, and it pains me to think of that day. Her vet told me that the normal life expectancy of toy dogs is 15 years. MySweetPea is 14 years old this year. If she does cross the Rainbow Bridge, I will be imagining her waiting for me at the end of every rainbow that I will see.

😍So beautiful and #ilikeitalot!😍

That’s a pretty nice rainbow. The double rainbow is particularly nice with the spectrum of colors. I remember as a kid my parents explained that China was on the other side of the earth and in my mind that meant they were standing upside down!

So I asked my mom if rainbows in China were upside down. She just laughed and tried to explain gravity to me and that the earth was a sphere...finally she said no. That’s all I really remember...

So are people in China standing upside down? LOL just joking. Things maybe upside down there metaphorically though...
Take Care :)

Hehehe, you are so funny! If you had a child and asked you the same questions, how would you answer? Hahaha, so now my imagination brought me back to when I thought that perhaps peeps were upside down on the opposite side of the planet! I think it is a common thought for very young children to think that, or they simply think that the earth is one huge flat world. I recall my brother (who was 4 years older than me then) using the globe we had at home. I asked the same question, and he simply turned the globe around and said "so whose upside down now?
Have a beautiful day, my friend @shortsegments. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I appreciate you. Stay safe and take care 🥰🌺🤙
