As 2020 is coming to an end, I am writing my last post for the year.
It has indeed been both joyful and fun, as well as tough and challenging. Being a social person, that thrives around others, the isolation has sometimes been challenging, but the hope of things somewhat going back to “normal” one day keeps me going. We don’t talk much about the mental challenges it causes. Being from a different part of the world, and being used to going home at least twice every year, to spend time with my family and friends was something I took for granted... I don’t any more, and not being able to spend time with them and give them a hug is hard. My 89 year old dad fell on the ice a little over a week ago... he is doing well, but it ended up with a split forehead that needed stitches and some serious bruises on knees and elbows. Just yesterday,a small town just 10 minutes away from where I used to live, and where I have several friends, had a huge landslide (300x700 meters). 31 homes gone, 900 people evacuated, and 10 still unaccounted for. It is devastating to watch.
Anyway, good things have come of this as well,.. families are spending more time together and work in a different way than what we used to.
So, we are entering into 2021 with hopes of a year were we can again spend time with friends and go back to traveling.
This morning we went to the grocery store before we took Dude out for a short walk.
It was a little gray and chilly... but not too bad.
Now the weather is colder, the cat spends more time inside.. sometimes sitting in the window, gazing out and dreaming of summer and warmer weather.
We only walked about 3 kilometers this morning.
I was able to score a #Win today... yay
In the evening I prepared dinner for me and my hubby, then we watched a movie, and he fell asleep. So most of the evening was spent working on my knitting project. Now, I hope the new year will bring you joy, peace and prosperity.
