These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...
Quite the frustrating Saturday with a key penalty missed by Zulte-Waregem in the last minute which would have turned a small loss into a big win and Charleroi seeing 2 goals disallowed for no valid reason which caused the in-game team total on them to end up a loser. You know that you are in a bad streal when all these things go the wrong way so I would advise to be very cautious on following any of the betting action. I personally don't mind so much the swings at this point as crypto is going so well that my current betting stakes are being dwarfed by that. 4 matches on Sunday...
Genk vs Sint-Truiden
Genk is still fighting for Playoff 1 and are mathematically sure if they win today in the derby against Stvv who are safe and have nothing left to play for. Genk has played some good matches lately and are with 4 wins and a draw in their last 4 matches scoring at least twice in each of those. Stvv wasn't the better team against Waasland last weekend but they without a loss in their last 3 matches taking 2 wins and a draw. I don't see this group having much affinity with the derby and they might have some decompression after winning the relegation fight. Sometimes the opposite happens with those teams playing without any stress so it has to be seen. Betting Genk is the only real option in this match for me though, they are in a good form, have an incentive to win and score quite easily as of late. I did take a tiny pre-game position on Genk -1.5 @ 2.51
and I rather wait it out and see what the match brings before committing more. 1H Gent, Genk Team Total Over, Over, Genk to make a Comeback, Under in Corners after Genk takes the lead are all options that I'm keeping in mind for potential in-game action.
Waasland vs Kortrijk
Waasland is 3 points behind on Moeskroen who have a much harder schedule (vs Antwerp & Club Brugge) compared to (Kortrijk & Leuven). So there is still some hope left for Waasland who are ahead in the standings in case both end with equal points. They have been rather unfortunate and have not been without a chance in the previous matches. Today they will be without important player Vukitic who took a red card last week. Kortrijk is on a 0 o 12 losing streak and needs a point to be mathematically safe (just in case Moeskroen by wonder would take 6 on 6). They showed an overall lack in quality against Club Brugge, were outplayed away against Eupen, lost against Antwerp who played with 10, and lost against Zulte-Waregem not being good enough. Waasland is one of those relegation teams that don't lack scoring power and I do give them a good chance to score against Kortrijk who haven't exactly been a lock defensively having gotten at least 2 goals against in their previous 4 matches. I did take a small initial bet on Waasland Team Total Over 1 @ 1.854
and will see where it goes in-game. 3.65 feels quite big for a Waasland outright win as a small 'lose-a-little-win-a-lot' gamble but the players that they are missing keep me away for now. Since they will llikely be the team that has to go forward I also took a bit on Waasand +1 Corners @1.90
. Over 9 corners also is an option for a live bet. Should be an interesting match.
Anderlecht vs Club Brugge
Anderlecht is in a good streak taking 10 on 12 in their last 4 matches and my view is that they are being overhyped in the media because some of the exaggerated scores. They played a good match against a rather poor Antwerp winning 1-4 with some late goals while the match was already played. They got 0-1 against vs Zulte who played a good match until they screwed themselves over taking an early red which resulted in a collapse and 4-1 score. They played a boring match against a bad Mechelen who still managed to score the 1-1 late. They kept focus against Standard in what was a non-match with a comedy capers 0-1 and a deflected long-distance shot for the 0-2. Sure they haven't played bad and manage to do quite well defensively but they also still are that simply is not good enough when it comes down to overall player quality. Club Brugge is made out to be in a major slump in the media despite taking 10 on 15 only losing against Antwerp who put down a wall in a match that could have ended as the first goal came out of nowhere and the 2nd goal was a penalty making them score at 200%. Club Brugge still is the superior team right now despite the opposite form that seems to be right now. looking at home results, Anderlecht is WDLDD in their last 5 versus WWDWW for Club Brugge. With al this talk about Brugge no longer having their ridiculously high form of a while back and Anderlecht being the team getting a lot of praise, I expect Club Brugge to come with full focus wanting to set a statement also for the fans who would love it. I see the odds way too much in favor of Anderlecht and took a combined full stake bet on Club Brugge +0 @ 1.77
& Club Brugge 1H +0 @ 1.80
as shared on the SBC Discord
this morning. I don't expect a wide-open start. The odds are crashing while writing this preview and I took a little bit extra on wagerr.com/sportsbook
on Club Brugge -0.25 @ 2.03 & Club Brugge -0.5 @ 2.41.
Beerschot vs Oostende
Beerschot seems to have run out of life and are a team to fade despite the fact that they won against Charleroi during the mid-week. They play rather defensively and have been getting a ton of corners against which is something I have been writing about week after week. Oostende has dropped their excellent form a bit in the money-time losing 2 of their last 3 matches. They will have quite some missings also with Gueye, Sakala & Hendry but I still expect them to be the team moving forward while Beerschot lures on the counter. I did take a small bet on Oostende 1st Half -0.75 Corners @ 1.95
and might add more especially of Beerschot somehow takes the lead. Oostende -0.25 is also an option but I will wait to see what the match brings first.
