Dawn to Sunrise - 7 November 2019 (Original Video/Photos)

지난달

The sunrise sometimes looks like fire on the horizon. The clouds were very colorful until sunrise. That is when the thick clouds on the horizon block my view of the rising sun.

Photographs/video taken on 7 November 2019.

Sunrise Video

For this photo shoot I focused on the distant horizon then turned off the auto-focus, but forgot to turn off the image stabilization on my lens. I strongly suspect that the image stabilization is causing the slight movements seen in the video. I used the shake reduction feature of my editing software to remove as much as possible, but it did not fix all of it.

The photographs in the video cover a 40 minute time-frame. This video stitches together 115 photos starting 37 minutes before the official sunrise.

Full Video

All the photographs taken have been compiled into a 6 minute 24 second video. The photographs have not been enhanced, you see what I observed.

Sunrise Photographs in Sequence

Dawn: The period of the day when light begins to appear in the sky from the sun.
Sunrise: The time when you first see the sun in the morning.

To give you an idea of the when the photographs were taken I am adding a T-time. T-0 is sunrise, T-10 is 10 minutes before sunrise, and T+5 is 5 minutes after sunrise.

This is a representative sample of the photographs in the video. The photographs have not been enhanced, you are seeing what I observed on this morning.

A beautiful thing... Have you thought of reducing the time to one minute to get a better effect :-)

Hi Mike,

Do you mean shortening the timelaspe to one minute?

Have a great weekend!

Yes, 5 minutes is a bit long but still good :-)

Ah... I must be sleepy. Of course you meant the YouTube video.

When I started posting them to YouTube, I did short videos. It did not do the subtle color changes in the sunrise justice. So I made a few 5 to 10 minute videos showing all the photographs in sequence. The reason I stitch photographs together instead of video is that I can control the ISO setting. My lowest setting is ISO 100 which allows for full color saturation without the pixelation.

Some of the comments I got on YouTube suggested I should add music. That is when I started adding music to the videos too.

To give people a sense of the full video without having to watch it for minutes, I started including timelapses in my SteemIt posts.

In the future when I have time, I can experiment with making a short one minute video of just the most spectacular photos in the sequence.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Have a great weekend!
Steem on,
Mike

Thanks for the explanation, the colors sure come through in the time lapses :-)

wonderful stuff that is so astonishing to watch :)

This is a random place to ask but sometimes I am just curious about things. You seem to consistently vote for the posts of @spaceray and he is literally just posting gibberish. Is there any reason you continue to vote for these posts?

My brother has a mental illness. He is a patient in the mental health system.

To give him a way to express himself and to give him a bit of self-worth, I thought that letting him earn some cents on SteemIt would be a small way to do that.

I live over 800 miles from him and do what I can to help him. His gibberish sometimes gives hints into his condition.

My brother is not computer literate. I showed him how to do a few things like post and include a picture. That is why he uses the same picture all the time. He chose that picture because in his mind he is being bombarded by electrical signals from various sources. He even believes it is coming from a satellite.

I told him to use the tag "fiction" because it is all just fiction.

Last night, I was thinking that maybe a harmless tag would be "nonsense". It is not too demeaning.

Would it be better to have him use the tag "nonsense"??

Thank you for contacting me!
Have a great weekend!

Mike
