Life in the hedge - Blossoms, bugs and bees

thumb.jpg

Greetings Steemians!

Spring is in full blossom, the air saturated with flowery scent and hard-working pollinators are humming and buzzing in every corner.

7.jpg
The flowerage of a Photinia hedge is attracting everything that creeps and flies. Countless nozzles dipping in the delicious nectar while pollen is transferred from blossom to blossom.

3.jpg
Behold, the king of the hedge is landing!

(My ambition to capture the green rose chafer once sharp in flight really got me carried away. As you can see, I made it in the end, but after innumerable failed attempts and a sunburn on my neck ;) )

3-1.jpg
Breast ahead into the ambrosial pollen bath.

2.jpg

4.jpg
The feast is arranged for the bee beetle, too.

6.jpg
The hive will be satisfied with this worker bee's yield.

I hope you enjoyed these buzzing springtime impressions. Thanks for watching and have a great day on Steemit!

Shaka

sunburned or not it's all worth it!
those are beautiful shots!

the hardest to take pics of are the tiniest moving creatures!
I just found out that the Tamron 18 -270 mm can actually do just that !

I normally use my smartphones for them
still getting used to my dslr
while it seems like a piece of cake for you capturing those milk scent sniffers! ^ ^

Sorry for the sunburn. Your effort was worthwhile. Aren't these just beautiful? These are the kind of pictures everyone wanna see here on steemit. Please maintain this standard, dear @shaka

Wow - these are popping on my new IPS monitor - thanks for the great shots :)

·

@shaka - Thanks also for your upvotes - I really appreciate the help. As I am a witness, when I receive substantial upvotes I check which witnesses the voter is voting for, in case they might have space to add me to the list. I can see that you are currently voting for @bitcoiner as a witness, but that account is dead and has not processed a block for the Steem blockchain in 3 months. I would greatly appreciate if you would consider replacing that vote with a vote for me.
In any case, Steem on! :)

Aren't God's creations just wonderful? The workers bees put in so much to ensure that the colony survives. Some can even let down their lives just to ward off invaders. Amazing! Thanks @shaka for these HD photos

Nice colors and subject isolation @shaka. The yellow against the deep blue sky is pretty striking. You do pretty well with the trusty Tamron lens :)

·

Thank you!

Awesome photography, i love how you turned the whole album into a awesome story line

King of the hedge indeed

Nice one i enjoyed all of the buzz, thanks have a great day too

·

Thanks, happy to read that!

I want to see footage of you lurking in the bush chasing that green bugger.
Sometimes i feel like that its almost equally interesting what a photographer goes through to get those 1 in a 100 shots as much as the shots themselves.
People see the result, but might not understand the dedication and work behind every single one.
:)

For next time. :D

·

Haha, thanks for the sun screen :D. I'll use it next time for sure.

And you're right, an additional Making of can often help in explaining the effort that is required to collect and develop a handful of presentable images. At least when tricky motifs are involved like here :)

Hey shaka :) Super "ImFlugErwischt"-Fotos.

·

Danke ;)

Amazing macro shots..! 📷

The snap of the king landing with wide spread wings is pure genius..! This kind of shots are worthy of a little sunburn, man..! 😃
Stay blessed..!

·

Thank you!

Das sind wirklich umwerfend gute Fotos.
Bin schier sprachlos und das will was heißen...
Resteemed!

·

Danke Dir!

Wow!

Your persistent effort produced these awesome photos. I'm very pleased with you. Thanks for making this come trough. The sacrificial nature of the worker bee is what we all could learn from. STEEM ON DEAR @SHAKA

Omg! Great shots... I can’t believe you caught that fly in mid flight! 👍

·

It took a while ;) Thanks!

Awesome pictures glad to see some healthy bees :) #savethebees :D

·

There are less bees in my garden year by year. Bad thing.

·
·

Thats so sad, hopefully science will find a solution to end the dying we need the little workers

Hahahaha, your creativity and choice of words are unique. Those beautiful pictures are breathtaking. Your sense of pictures taking has completely glued me to this blog 👍 @shaka

·

Thank you @steepup, glad to read that!

Hi @shaka how have you been ?, I miss your posts. Excellent publication, this really is information of the first, that is one of the reasons that attracted me your blog, since you publish important information, educational and above all always leaves us an apprenticeship at the end of the post, besides that you take your time to explain every detail of the post and always explain photography by photography. This one in particular I liked a lot because you show us how beautiful bees, flowers and insects can be. All the photographs are really beautiful, they are sharp, clear, bright and above all you can appreciate every detail of what you want to give us to teach. Thanks for the post, greetings and I hope you find yourself well.

Wow!

Hello how are you, what beautiful photos the little animals in flowers look like ornaments, only spring next to nature offers us this majestic beauty I am delighted with your photos, you as always offering something beautiful to admire

I really admire so much dedication and patience, to achieve excellent shots and project the laborious work of pollinating that worker bee, we also observe the beauty of that flower, which shows that spring came in all its splendor. congratulations for excellent shots. greetings shaka

·

Thank you!

How are you @shaka spring is very cool and beautiful because it is full of colors, bees do a great job I have learned here a lot of them, I read that they communicate with the plants is like to know which will choose the truth that It's a wonderful world I think you got some great photos of this moment I think bees with hard to see or capture so I think it was worth those sunburns, I for being spring prepare a sandwich outdoors to post it on my blog although soon in my country will be rainy days

Awesome capture of the Chafer in flight! I hope your sunburn feels better soon!

·

Thank you! The sunburn feels much better already.

·
·

Glad to hear it! It's easy to lose track of time when photographing!

Wow! These are spectacular shots @shaka. You really take your photo shots like a real pro. Meanwhile, sorry about the sunburn. But weren't you worried about a possible bee attack?

·

Oh, not at all. I haven't ever been attacked by a bee :)

·
·

Wow! Lucky you then @shaka. Or do you perhaps have a "bee-repelling characteristics"? Seeing as you get so close to them to take your shots?

Sehr geile Bilder!

I have been learning to catch the flying bugs, but you know I always fail. later on I know, it takes a lot time to get the perfect shot. @shaka, those pics are beautiful and as amateur photographer, I need to learn a lot from these shots. Thanks a bunch my friend!

To really appreciate these shots one needs to click "R" and view them in full screen. Today was gorgeous, and so are your photos, thanks for sharing -- I particularly like the ones of insects in flight.

Wow!
Super geniale Bilder!
Die Insekten sehen aus wie Raumschiffe :D

I read in high school biology that worker bees die after they release tgeir stingers into the body of the enemy. So in a sense, they are suicide bombers. Such sacrificial spirit. God bless you @shaka for sharing this

These were very neat shots @shaka. I'm glad they were worth your time. I would love to have a powerful camera someday too. Danke schone!

Awesome pics. The flight away picture is definitely the best one. ☺️

sehr geile macro-aufnahmen! TOP!! 💪

·

Danke!

Excellent photo shoot with amazing results. Everything looks beautiful. I really like the bottom four photos.

awesome photography,@shaka,,
I like this season because there have no cold or hot in weather and a different weather apprises,,thanks for sharing,,
@upvoted

The bee beetle looks like the ladybird. Apart from pollination, the ladybird can also be used to attack crop pests. So high school biology taught me 😎😎
I appreciate these quality pictures. God bless you my @shaka

When I see these pictures I realize that you do a good job with the camera is not so easy to photograph bees I think they are very little alone when they are in their flower but nevertheless to shoot a photo coming to that flower is a difficult task, they have some very nice colors these are bees that I had not seen only the one that is black with yellow, happy spring for all

Wow, echt geniale Bilder!

Sehr beeindruckende Bilder... einfach klasse

You always amaze me with your beautiful pictures. This is just beautiful @shaka

Da hat wer Ahnung vom photographieren :) Geile Aufnahmen, Chapeau !

·

Vielen Dank!

Sehr coole Bilder.
Mir gefällt das mit "the king of the hedge is landing" am besten.

Great photo,also made me sneeze
Ha ha ha

spring is also called "flower season". Spring makes daylight longer than night. Eve in the spring usually feels a bit hot because of summer. beautiful photographs when viewing the most difficult small insects to take photographs of creatures while walking,

i love that time when spring is at blossom and bees also love it!

Nothing beats the beauty in the work of nature. these images are quite pleasing to the eyes.

I LOVE your photography sir so beautiful

Geez!

I like the colour of the beetle. It looks like it's wearing some kind of gown. Lol

Amazing shots. Love it.

I love your photography, really nice. I wonder what device you took those with.

Wow, klasse Naturaufnahmen.

Enchanting photography of flowers and bugs! Bugs, bees and beetles are great creation of nature. They must be saved so that we may remain safe.
