EDIT: What will you do for 5,000 STEEM???

Serious replies only, please.

Looking for real ideas, not you powering up, buying an eight ball, etc.

Lol probably keep it and sell it if steem goes back to early 2018 prices

Under HF21/2 I would power it all up and continue my very inefficient manual curating :-)

I used to delegate part of my STEEM out to projects but currently there are no projects that can compete with just keeping the SP and try to add some 'value' to some well-written posts or 'Good Steemians'. (Except maybe for projects that also do manual curation but hey, I like doing it myself :D)

I upvote on average 100 unique Steemians per week, the bigger the upvote value the more unique Steemians can enjoy a slice.

·

100/week is pretty damn good. Seriously, congrats and thank you.

·
·

:-)

I think Midlet's video proposal might be a good way to spend 5K STEEM. He can make something that we could all use towards marketing/spreading the Steem name. It's not enough on itself but with videos we could go to 'round 2' and plan a serious Fb/twitter/ campaign. The 5K would indirectly come back to 'all of us' willing to share our name outside of the Steem ecosystem.

I would buy the last few gold LORD ARIANTHUS cards, those things went fast.

I’d go represent STEEM at a conference or maybe even do a stunt... first crypto blind date auction? Cross country trip on STEEM? First STEEM sponsorship on a PRCA rodeo athletes vest? Not sure.. but we need a good stunt.

Or I’ll just stop nagging everyone and go away.. that may be a good use of 5K STEEM 😛

EDIT.. actually I’d build a landing page for onboarding with a comprehensive “NormieTalk” users guide included, we need that.

·

...Powering down right now!

·
·

The price goes up to 10K if you are the one paying me to leave 🙂 😉

If someone suddenly gave me 5000 steem to use for a project I would work on finding who has an influential twitter or youtube account and I would pay to promote some of the best graphics or videos we have. It would be for the sake of Name and Brand recognition vs. a immediate onboarding effort.

I would put it into our BRO Poker prize pool for the first ever annual BRO Titans of Poker SeriesTM (BRO TOP Series) that will be kicking off on October 1st!

The goal is to get the pool up to at least 10,000 STEEM or $10,000 by the championship main event next year.

More details coming soon!

·

I will contribute towards that.

·
·

YAS!!!

That would be awesome! I’ll send you the infos this week!

·
·
·

PM me until I actually follow through. You know how I am...

·

I should get back into the BRO poker now that the weather is getting a bit less appealing. I just got a cashout from the old lucksacks.com site -- so I'm assuming things have moved around...

Links to the some deets / new site floating around anywhere?

·

You'd better up your game(s) than. I know it's bad when I can't even get my mom to play your games, she is/was a gamble alcoholic for years until she couldn't get around easily anymore.

·
·

Cool story, bro.

·
·
·

lol, never hurts to try. I have thought about powering up quite a bit but the hard folk put a damper on that. Was hoping to get that in right after summer but before the holiday season....but not after I seen what they can do to people with a hard folk. Oh, and that would be bro-ette.

I made this in a week for a contest a while back.

For 5k Steem, I'd make a better one or a series of smaller ones actually going into some specifics.

·

I missed this! I was just thinking we should spend the 5K on Fb ads but we'd need great videos/catchy content for that. This looks great, a big video and some smaller ones means we have some variety to share on different mediums and in different contexts.

·
·

Yea it kinda flew under the radar. There were some really good ones in that contest.

At this point I'd have to hang onto it until it equaled a retirement home in mexico.

That would be awesome, i will power it up and fuck your haters with down votes. But i think on new steem downvotes are free ? Oh how could i forget that.

I will through a party for my friends and spend them all.

I've shared what I would do with the endowment here. I appreciate any consideration for this gracious opportunity.

I'll trade it all for steak, then take pictures of said steak, post said pictures, and include commentary. I'd do the same steak post for months, until I ran out of steak.

I'd then write a post talking all about how I got free steak and converted that steak into stake, to get more stake I hope to someday turn into steak.

·

I'm going to consider this.

Would you consider cheeseburgers instead?

·
·

For five g's, I'd do anything, including pizza pops.

·
·
·

Stay tuned. Let's see if someone comes up with anything better.

If not, we'll negotiate terms and move forward.

How many days in a row can you eat a cheeseburger?

·
·
·
·

Okay now this is getting serious. Here's the part where I say, "Dude. I was just joking."

I'd just power it up and do my usual curation stuff which now includes #showcase-sunday where I'm trying encourage people to believe in their old work and give it a second chance, now that we have curators willing to actually read and vote.

To answer your question: 498 days

·
·
·
·
·

Goddamnit man, you got my hopes up!

·
·
·
·
·
·

I could already taste the cheeseburgers but then I was all like, "No! This is NOT the right way to go about acquiring cheeseburgers. Think about all those people who deserve this more! Goddammit man you should be ashamed of yourself!"

Stupid conscience getting in the way of good eats again but I think it's for the best.

·
·
·
·
·
·
·

I understand. Maybe someone else has the stones.

·
·

Seriously?...I thought you were moving away from (sync: topic) "shit" not finding a path towards more of it.

I would like to start a venture, that would deal with crypt in US and pay in other currencies. Like a registered company, that could actually start paying people in their currency by taking their steem. Or even another dapp, that could do that.

Tip 500 steem each to some content creators that would find out about Steem after the tip and see what they'd end up doing with it. :)

Dear @berniesanders

I will make an Official Publication About this Project after we ave successfully carried out the thesis
@berniesanders We hope you grant our Proposal Above

I would buy Steemmonsters Legendary Summoners and Beta Packs!

Posted using Partiko Android

Honestly, I'd probably just put it towards paying of a little bit of debt that I've accumulated over the bear market and be one step closer to reclaiming freedom and financial independence.

  1. Make a massive #mysteemjourney contest.
  2. Use to re-board quality Steem authors that are no longer active.

I will sell it and buy a new laptop for me as this one is not letting me do my work.

I will go to some town in my country, Indonesia to promote Steem Blockchain for University Students and I will inform them all About the way to create a post, interacting with other users, to withdraw their rewards from steem wallet to their bank account, and I will write a weekly report for you in detail what I have done.

Basically, your asking what would someone do with about $800 to make Steemit a better place...
Well, right now it seems the Steemit 2019 silver rounds are struggling to get pre-orders done... Which are some of the coolest silver coins to collect.

  • I'd simply buy $800 of pre-orders which is about 33 coins.
  • And then host contests on various social platforms to give them out for free.
-Obviously keeping 1 or 2 to myself.

That would be my project - and probably one of the best ways to use $800 to attract new users and market steemit.

Probably an updated treasure hunt where a private key is hidden through convoluted means with 5000 steem powered up on the account.

Would be nice to find ways to promote it on Reddit to get their attention.

The 100 Steem ones I used to do feel so small now.

·

I upvoted that as finding creative ways to get people to onboard is a good cause, unfortunately though the last hard folk sort of screwed those prospects, even if they onboard I hardly doubt they'll stay.

·
·

I think it is the opposite now, as a lot of the large circle jerks have been broken up. Trending isn't flooded with $200 posts about giving away a $0.01 Steem Monsters card, more good content producers are being curated. Bid Bots are losing their power over the network.

·
·
·

Who are you trying to kid. The tribes are a circle jerk...just maybe for not as much money.

Haven't looked at trending lately...at least not since someone made thirty bucks talking about three bags of shit hanging from a ceiling, all compliments of the new circle jerk. We can have that right?...a new circle jerk to go along with the new steem?

·
·
·
·

Not all of them are. Some are moderated. I put a lot of effort in ensuring good content gets rewarded and bad content doesn’t on STEMgeeks. Have a look for yourself.

·
·
·
·
·

The site with all the burn post?

·
·
·
·
·
·
·
·
·
·
·
·
·

You said go look for myself, I put STEMgeek into the box and it came up a site with a bunch of burn post on it.

Power up at least 60% of it and see if there's anything of worth I want to consider on SE.

·
·
·

You are not wrong. The only thing there is supporting a tribe or two you really like.

·
·
·

True. I've been supporting PORN. Look what it's done for reddit...

·
·
·
·

I guess the only serious answer I could think of is sponsor some Steemians who might attend some crypto conferences.

·
·
·
·

I would give away 500 steem to 10 people (minnows who have been on the platform for a while) who must use it to power up their accounts without selling it for over a year and start curating decent content so that they can start building there steem accounts to dolphin status.

·

How does this benefit Steem, as a whole?

·
·

The title and description doesn't ask people what they'd do with it to benefit Steemit as a whole, just plain what they'd do with it without any further direction outside of that.

I would take that 5000 Steem and power it up on Indiaunited community account and reinstate activities on our Indian community as #newsteem is bringing lots of hopes for us.

I power up everything. Then I will have more motivation to work on Steem to make these 5000 ($0.16) back to $1.

I think there is nothing surprising as long as you are not a big investor you have no incentive to take care of the future of the project.

If you mean like to use it to do something that is useful for Steem.. I would probably have a Steem Conference/Music & Art event, but would still need people to get involved from the Steem community, and would probably need to get a little bit more funding possibly from sponsors for PA and Lighting for the event.. However, if you mean like a gift honestly I would level up a lot of my SM cards and probably power up half of it for curating.

I will use it to develop course institutions by providing as assistance for citizens to develop talents and abilities such as dressing courses, mechanics, so that they will be able to open jobs for them and reduce unemployment.

I would prefer you delegate rather than give but I am assuming that’s what you meant when you said give* :). So I would vote every one of your posts than curate with the rest.

Ass kissing at its finest! 😘

·

No, I actually meant GIVE someone 5,000 STEEM for something worthwhile.

·
·

Well than that changes things. I would help out the cannabis community. And use the full amount to do contests and giveaways. Whoops!

For your original questions as to what I would do with 5000 Steem:

I would most likely spend half on Splinterlands Booster packs and power up the other half. I would like to see more projects such as Splinterlands succeed, and to reach the point where they are appealing to those outside of Steem's relatively small userbase.

Regarding what I would do for 5000 Steem? Slowing gather it; keep posting and trying to engage those who reply :)

5k steem would make 10 minnows. So I would spread it out to 10 people and make them a full fledged little fish. At least they would have the slider then. The only way I could decide who would be random draw of new accounts. Thoug hmy ability to do such a thing is pretty limited so I would most likely have to as kfor help.

First I would power it all up and then generously thank you for the gift.
I currently attempt to manually curate about 20 posts a day, but would be able to increase that number by a significant amount. I have been encouraged by some awesome people on Steem and would like to attempt to encourage others. I also would consider some delegations to projects that attempt to encourage new users on Steem.

I'd power up 1k to 1.5k, then I'd use about 200$-300$ worth to invest in 1 or 2 sectors from my country as it would be cheaper with less traction fees etc than other markets.(Could be better to just get my first satoshis with it but I'm thinking at current prices it wouldn't be worthwhile unless I never plan on taking profits from there.) I'd also withdraw some to go ham on steemfes I mean my birthday and keep the rest as liquid steem, coz you never know.

I would definitely use it to power up and downvote the post of an author who persistently keeps on abusing the platform with different types of abuse like plagiarism, identity theft, photo plagiarism, spamming, vote farming and so on🙂. Thats what I have been doing past 2 years for steemcleaners. Though the price has fallen sharply it is not really affecting me from fighting abuse for I have full love and dedication working to keep this community healthy🙂. Thats what I would do.

Curate and engae with the community, notihing new expect Id have more to share and Id gain in the long run too. WIN WIN. LOlololol

I'm working on a small Steem-based project that I think has potential. I could use the money for some "bounties" for help on the project for some parts that I don't know how to do myself / am too busy / too lazy -- essentially, making a couple PR's / a fork of an open-source android app, and maybe trying to make something comparable for iOS.

Could give my project a boost to a point where approaching some local small businesses for partnership/investment isn't entirely laughable -- only mostly laughable.

I think would exchange my cell phone . Just for the answer to the question 😀

·

Fair enough. Thanks for being honest.

·
·

Love to see you back . Cheers

If I was given 5,000 STEEM I would just say fuck it and finish the SteemGalaxy project I have a proposal for that isn't going to get funded. I just don't have a lot of motivation to do anything besides keep putting up content and keep up the curation for the time being.

Part of the funds I would power up and part of the funds I would dollar peg for a bit because I feel like we are going to have one last capitulation move down that will be harsh and then I would move the funds back and power them up and rotate them through.

https://steemit.com/sps/@brianphobos/multi-player-2d-arcade-game-to-win-more-steem-steemgalaxy-com

I would probably just power them up to reach my eventual mid-term goal of 25k steem.

·

Great goal, not what I'm looking for here.

Its too small an amount of money to really do much. If I gave someone $1000 what would you do with it? Not much. Really running a legit project is expensive, $1000 is gonna get you... what ... a server for a few months... lunch?

·

Do you realize there are people working on projects for free?

Don't be so ungrateful.

·
·

It's not a matter of being grateful, I'm sure anyone would be thankful to receive even a dollar. I'm just stating it won't accomplish much of anything.

Be realistic.

Edit: Ill further extend this even. You are asking people "yeah but how would that benefit steem?" It's too small an amount of money to really benefit steem. Just being honest.

·
·
·

Honest, and clueless.

·
·
·
·

If you say so. Cheers.

Iwould love to make more non-music audio entertainment. No I don't mean a podcast or a talk show or anything like that. What I want to make are essentially the old radio dramas of the past, but you know, not in the past, now. I have been making audiobooks for a few years and I have discovered that I like that sort of thing. But, I want to go all out with the production and put in sound effects, and many voices, and ambiance and mood music and so on, make some really entertaining fiction for your ears.

I do this now in an audiobook format, but I really think this would work much better in a podcast format, with a chapter or episode released every week or so until a season or series is done. This can be done on the dsound platform and with a few extra steps I can also make a dtube version too if we feel it would be needed.

As I don't compose music myself, I'm certainly not the best ever writer that ever was, and I can't possibly perform every kind of character voice there is, I would love to draw from the talent pool here on Steem to complete these productions. I feel like if we got several titles up and running for people to enjoy in different genres it would really add some variety to the audio content we have here and may even inspire new content creators to contribute to established productions or to start their own.

As far as 5000 Steem, I would like to build myself a proper soundbooth to record in, as right now I do it in a garage with blankets and curtains and waiting until the ambulance goes by or until the plane or chopper flies away. This will greatly improve my sound quality. Not to mention cut out all the time I waste sometimes waiting for external sounds to stop or trying to deal with echos or static, etc. Also from this 5000 I would like to use it to help support any talent that is involved with the productions.

Other than that, if I wasn't going to do the audio stuff, I'd wanna start a Steem Comic Line, but I haven't put alot of thought into that, just seems like a fun idea that needs more baking and marinating in the brain or whatever.

Oh yeah, nice to chat with you. :-)

5K Steem is about 825 USD. I would probably cash out and buy myself something nice to celebrate my birthday. I would also use some of the money to buy books I need during the last 3 months in School, and to help me pay off a small bill or two.

So yeah, I would probably use it to help myself to graduate.

In case I wouldn't be allowed to use it in real life, I would probably power up 50-60% of it and host multiple contests, where I would try to encourage and motivate newcomers and "lesser accounts" to produce quality content. I think it's important to reward and motivate these users so they actually feel that it would be worth to power up and/or invest in Steem.

·

What is "quality content"?

·
·

I think quality content is basically everything except spam & copy/pasted content. I mean, anything that your audience like and support should be quality, regardless of grammar, length etc.

I would freaking sell it and buy myself the iPhone pro so I can make better vlogs :D It's kinda hard to do so on camera cause either 1. Security guards never let you 2.People stare like they have never seen a camera before aargh. A good phone would solve all that! And maybe buy some wine to celebrate too.. brr

I would eat 5000 bowls of steem

I'll use it to bulk up by registering at a gym and following a diet plan then make weekly video documentaries about my journey through Dtube.

power up half of it because my upvote worth close to nothing now :P (0.01-0,02$) and i would be giving away the remaining 2500 in portion of 10-20 steem to undervalued quality posts that i deem worthy.

Or maybe drugs and hookers :P

What's 5,000 STEEM even worth these days? Two bucks?

I would use it to buy food for my family and for me or maybe to leave this country called Venezuela where the salary of a worker is about 2 dollars. In order to try to work in another country where I do receive a salary according to the work done.

Wear a Tee that says "Will Dance For Steem"
Then dance like no one's watching in public
Share the videos on Social Media
Talk about crazy for Steem hahahaha

Probably pay some developers to make me a resteem market where people can pay to promote posts and others earn from resteeming whatever post they see worthy.

I would dedicate an entire month to working on Native Ads for hivemind communities, which will probably be enough to get it out before SteemFest.

I would also help out with outstanding issues on the hivemind repo and take shots at condenser and wallet repos to help move things forward.

Write a comment under your post. 😂

Ill just power up and see where I go with it

Posted using Partiko iOS

·

Well, that certainly helps you.

I'd fund my contest for two years at the current payouts ;)

i would hold some 50 steem contests in the hope that more Albanians join steem and kickstart a little community.
write/translate some posts ... power up whats left to make me feel like i have skin on the game :)

i would delegate it to Helpie, to help them boost their curation, which is focused on overlooked or under-valued posts.

Well well.
Intriguing ... 5000 is very much.
Especially getting them in a plancton state.
For 33.33 Steem you can get a @xstern93 GoldTokenCard produced and shipped, and you will receive some good shares of the @xstern93 scot-Token (which is due to be created soon).
Some big part of the Steem could go into making this token fully functionable.
Much of it could be spared to go into the new SMT feature on the steem blockchain.
Maybe by creating a @tokenindustry SMT.
Some of the rest Steem could be considered "private" as vage for having set up @tokenindustry and @xstern93 ideas, develloping them further.
For making @udabeu ´s votes payout votes.
And also there would be enough for sponsoring bids on content i´d like to support more,
delegating or sending SP to content creators i´d like to support more.
Uhh, I would get your 5k used on the chain mostly, if not all of it.

Maybe trying to use some to learn how to get a new keyboard ( the "o" of this one I use is making me crazy ) sent home out of the unimaginable imaginable crypto universe.

I'd channel my inner socialist and find 10-20 people posting good shit that are almost to minnow and I'd power them up.

Flag haejin

Serious though, 5k steem isn't much. Like 1k-2k USD, so don't think it is a big jumpstart for any project.

Posted using Partiko Android

Probably invest in my future projects that will come this winter, that is photographing galaxies because that is the best time for doing that.

5k is way to much to give it like that..
But if you do, you probably are a good person or ... Who knows what are you thinking..
Personally speaking, i would powered up 4.5k on steemit and the rest 500 i will use them to power up first my steemleo account (400) and secondary, 100 just to celebrate my luck with beers!

Cash out to replace the rusted exhaust on my car so I can safely get to work. Just being honest.

Maybe sponsor a bum fight.

I have been a manual curator since 2016, mostly spanish-speaking authors, so I would power it up and continue my trying to help the spanish-speaking community :)

5000 Steem is enough to start a new Tribe in Steem Engine, so to answer your question, I will start a new community about food / baking / food business. From there, I will invite my friends from my other social media network to join the community.

We need more communities with a specific type of interest and it should not always be about steem / crypto / blockchain. Something that others can relate to. Cheers!

Honest answer?
Since I’ve powered up all liquid steem, I’ll probably hold the 5000 Steem until the price goes up and dump.

With 5k STEEM I'd re-launch my work on Steemmonsters/Splinterlands to disrupt the obvious monopolies that have formed. I'd use most of this as capital to fund an automated card buying bot, but I've also been working on rentals, bids, the general market I had before, and I'm interested building some of those 'delegation teams' that have formed to play hodl'ers cards.

I'd also like to see what everyone thinks is underdeveloped and in need of attention in this world. Been dealing with 'real life' and disconnected, but recently powered up 2,800+ SP and trying to get re-engaged here again.

I'd use it to support some other Dev projects I've been looking at (@lividseagulls / @litewallet) as well as using some of it to fund my own apps (I'd probably power it up and spend it out of pocket).

I'll say the same thing I said last night to someone giving away steem, I'd use it to show that honesty, integrity and playing by the rules pays off on Steemit. Taking the time to read, research, engage and defend your opinion if necessary is vital to the growth of any platform. If someone finally got rewarded for actually functioning as the platform was intended just think of the people who'd finally wise up that whale ass kissing isn't the only way to get ahead on this platform.

Just as a small example of this honesty and opinion truthfulness I'll dare say it's already predetermined where this five thousand will go and this is just a charade to hide that little fact.

First, a brainstormsession with @asgarth to make it easier for people to sign up via Steempeak and fund whatever amount necessary to accomplish this.
Second, start a guerrilla marketing campaign to get the attention of the world wide online Cannabis community to a Weed inspired Tribe with the main focus on the benefits of Cannabis and the fight for legalization.

Would power up 3k of it to crowdmind's account, the rest would go into supporting crowdsourcing activities; as well as supporting most-engaging contest creators through liquid donations for some time.

I'd honestly probably use most of it to buy SBI shares for smaller creators so that they actually have a monetary incentive to keep coming back. If high-quality contributors knew that each post would get, say, at least ten cents, I'm sure they would post a lot more. It would also help them gain exposure. Obviously I'd look through various posts to check for quality, as well as activity.

I will make @indowhale as secondary account as a curation projet to build Indonesian community of steem and Power Up 2000SP. Then makes next 100 secondary accounts power up 20SP to support the community and it members. and 300 Steem to makes 100 account @3 Steem. and 500SP to Power up @wongbraling. 200 Steem to makes a charity in community.

Will power up that steem and will use it to create an educational platform like udemy on steem blockchain.
