Psychiatry as "the intersection between psychology and rule of law"

27일 전

Technically, psychology is supposed to be the unbiased study of the human psyche. Psychiatry, then, is the study of the human psyche operating in a defined legal environment. It takes a static, fixed reference frame, statism. So an accurate description of psychiatry would be "the intersection between psychology and rule of law". It further fails to accurately study that intersection, labelling individuals with fictitious "psychiatric disorders" that "spontaneously manifest from the human mind", generatio spontanea, much like how bacterial infections were misunderstood before people learnt to take the microscopic world into account. If it is out of sight, people tend to neglect it.
