Do you hear the word Tamales is sure that we think of Mexico since tamales are traditional in that country, but in Venezuela they are called Hallaquitas, the seasoning of each country is unique so we have equal meals never the taste will be the same, today I want to share with you the recipe of sweet corn tamales of Elote, the sweet corn tamales typical of the State of Michoacán, Guerrero and Mexico are made with ground corn, butter and lard, resulting in a mixture with a very soft and sweet consistency that makes them a delicacy of Mexican cuisine.

In Venezuela of course we tell you Corn Hallaquitas and our recipe does not contain Manteca, but in the same way if you are a sweet corn tamales lover, you can definitely not miss this recipe

Ingredients for 6 Servings:

  • 6 cups of sweet corn, shelled
  • 4 tablespoons of lard at room temperature
  • 50 grams of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • Enough corn leaves soaked in hot water
  • To taste sour cream to serve

Preparation:

Place corn kernels in the processor and process 2 minutes. Reservation. Beat the lard and butter, add the salt, sugar and baking powder, mix until incorporated, fill in the leaves with 2 tablespoons of the previous mixture, wrap and cook in a steamer until well cooked, Serve with sour cream or to your liking and enjoy.

TIPS:

You can melt the butter and butter to mix with the corn.
