It meant a life full of joy and victory, a life without tears, fear, guilt or condemnation. But the saddest thing was that up to the time of Christ, no generation of believers ever walked fully in this blessed promise. As the Bible makes very clear, they never obtained it because of their unbelief which has made them went through life full of misery, doubt, fear, restlessness.
KJV:Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
The life we’ve received from/in Christ is such that does not require us to struggle for anything. It’s a life of rest; a life of peace in prosperity. The bible even testifues to how stress-free and easy the Christ-life really is.
AMP:Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
The instructions and responsibilities the Lord gives to us are not burdensome at all. He’ll never ask you to do something that is beyond your ability. All He asks is that you should believe and act on His Word. If he can take upon himself to sacrifice Jesus christ so that our sin may be blotted out then he can give you absolute rest just at his own expense.
All we need to do is to confess the Lordship of Jesus, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, and we became new creatures.
KJV:I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
We became righteous in an instant, and we are then translated into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, and we are then qualified to be a patarker of the inheritance of the saint in the kingdom of light with dominion over Satan and his cohorts of darkness.
