How close are you to Jesus..?

지난달

How many of us here have a best friend or a close friend?
How well do you relate with your best and close friend?
Is it the same way you relate with the rest of your friends?
Do you tell or share all your personal dealings and life with all your friends and associates?

You know when you stay close to someone, you are likely to win their heart such that, they can reveal to you secret things about themselves that they could not or might not tell everyone.

Our focal scripture today is in Mark 9:1-13

KJV:And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

2KJV:And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

3KJV:And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.

4KJV:And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

5KJV:And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

6KJV:For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.

7KJV:And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

8KJV:And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.

9KJV:And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.

10KJV:And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.

11KJV:And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?

12KJV:And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

13KJV:But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

Peter, James, and John had the privilege to see Jesus' glory and the beauty of His presence, because they were close to Him and loyal in following Him (v2)

How did Jesus reveal His glory to them?

Verse 2b-4 of our focal scripture tells us how.

.....and he was transfigured before them.

3KJV:And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.

4KJV:And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

The transfiguration was witnessed by the three disciples only. This was because they stayed close to Jesus and they were loyal to him.

What were the secrets that were revealed to the three disciples?

7KJV:And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Are you close enough to Jesus to have a life-changing experience?
If you can avail yourself to be with Him in a secret place where there would be no disturbances or distraction, you will experience the beauty of his presence in your life. You will have the opportunity to hear God's voice (v7)

Shalom!
