In our little AirBnB we often get spoilt by returning guests who have become like family and they often surprise us with gifts from their part of the world.
This weekend we were once again hosting the bikers, not the leather clad big burly ones; no these were the young BMX riders, quite a treat watching them perform I must add!
They brought us a big pack of Biltong (dried cured meat), dried Wors (made with a typical South African sausage called Boerewors with strong overtones of Coriander and Cloves) and Cabanossi (a Polish delicacy).
I think you could bribe any South African with Biltong, quite addictive!
We picked up a delicious loaf of Sourdough bread from a Chef School in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, about a 25 minute drive from our home.
So my sandwich this week is Biltong, Brie & Avo on Sourdough Bread.
- Sourdough bread
- Balsamic & Onion Cream Cheese
- Avocado sliced
- Baby Spinach leaves
- Curly lettuce leaves
- Biltong thinly sliced
- Creamy Blue Cheese
Making our sandwich
Firstly spread a generous layer of cream cheese on both slices of bread.
Top with Avocado.
Next on is the greens. and the Brie
Then the Biltong, followed by Cilantro.
Seal with second slice of bread, cut in half and enjoy!
The all important validation sign.
And as usual a quick look for all the busy people:
We're only a week away from @jaybird's Steemit Sandwich Contest Week #100 so why not join the party and bring your sandwich to the SSC table, we'd love to meet you!
