How to see Buenos Aires in a couple of day?

25일 전

Sounds a ridiculous goal to set ourselves I know, but that is all we had after our expedition trip to the Antarctic with Quark Expeditions. At the time when we booked this stay in Buenos Aires we did not give much thought as to how achievable this length of stay would be and our want to see some cultural shows in the city. .

As it turned out we discovered that this magnificent city has a population of 30 million people and the idea that we could see anywhere we thought we could was crazy stupid. One does not know about a city in another country until arriving and sussing the place out!

Anyway, we decided that the best way to get a taste of the capital of Argentina was to go on a couple of tours. So off to the hotel desk we went and asked about a tango dance tour and a city tour. Both were quickly booked and paid for! We were on a mission.

On the second night we were picked up by a shuttle bus at 8:45pm for a Dinner/Tango Dance Show and driven to a restaurant for dinner.

Dinner was a delicious three course meal that took about 2 hours to eat accompanied by a bottle of white wine.

Dessert was a yummy 'Chocolate Obsession Mousse" - very decadent but why not I am on holidays!

Then we were ushered out the door to walk across the road for the Tango Dance Show.

It seemed small inside for the large number of people in the restaurant but looks are deceiving. We all seemed to fit in around the small stage, there was upstairs and downstairs. Somehow or other we all seemed to have a view from our allocated seats. It was an extremely efficient organised affair. I have a sneaking suspicion these organisers do this regularly.

This next photo is actually a part of the brochure as it was not possible to take any more photos once we were inside the small cabaret theatre, it was packed with people.

Then at about 10:15 the Show begun and we loved the tango dancing, the band, the singing etc. A great atmosphere and a great performance. We can now say that we know about tango dancing.

Out we trooped at 12 midnight to be taken home - yes it was a late night but very enjoyable. One of our goals to see tango dancing in Argentinas was ticked off. We felt good!

It was a good decision on our part to join in a Dinner/Tango Dance Show, something that will stay with us for a long time.

Cheers and Blessings

The theatre was a very old building with a lot of history. Here is an exit door that we were ushered through at the end of the night. It was most pleasant to see a bit of night life in Buenos Aires.
