Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview

I keep translating some files in Main Game. As I written in some previous parts , the more I translated the more experience I got. This part I translated on page 9 and to some paragraphs on page 10. There are some interesting things I learned , for example:

[We should help them!|I am not afraid of no ghost.]

The most common meaning of 'afraid' is when we want to tell someone politely something that can make a person sad or depressed or upset. So the first time I translate is

[Chúng ta nên giúp đỡ họ!|Tôi e là có ma đấy.]

But after checking carefully a semantic revision in this context I decided to choose the second meaning of "afraid". That is 'to be frightened’. So I changed

[Chúng ta nên giúp đỡ họ!|Tôi không sợ con ma nào cả.]

Another example:

[They probably want to ambush us. We cannot trust them. What if they are hostile?]

Firstly, I didn't focus too much on word " ambush" and I translated " tấn công". But when LM @Carlpei
reminded me to reconsider the meaning and I notice it. I corrected it into " phục kích". This means that the secret is available at one location, waiting for the enemy to pass. While " Tấn công" means using the strength or advantage to overpower the opponent vigorously in order to win or to dominate a race.

Thanks @Carlpei again for your help.

Thank you for your contribution to the Davinci-Utopian translation project @lantracy. This is your 18th contribution to the translation category.

There were a few minor errors but we got them fixed so the final translation is flawless. The layout is well structured and the translation has a logical flow and uses correct punctuation. My suggestion is we keep it the old way, you show me your translation and I will proofread it first before you submit it. By doing this I can ensure that the overall quality of the translation is accurate and up to standard.

The Curious Expedition is a difficult project with technical terminologies and gaming jargon which will require a good background knowledge. You are doing a fine job on this project because you are an English teacher. You use factual information as evidence to back up your choice of words and I highly appreciate that.

I left a comment on your Crowdin and some via Discord chat and I hope you already fix those. I can see that you mentioned most of them in your post.

Your post has improved from the last time, However, there is still room for improvement on your post.

I'm glad that you learn a few things from the translation. Sometimes, translating is like reading a book too, you will learn a lot more if you are willing to pay attention.

Your ability to work independently is top-notch but you also provide assistance to your fellow translators.

It is a pleasure to have you as a team member. I look forward to seeing your next contributions.
