Wednesday walk challenge along 5th Ave and Steem Basic Income Give away

Wednesday walk challenge along 5th Ave and Steem Basic Income Give away

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Try to limit yourself to a set distance or time from the starting location, say 5 Blocks, 5 Minutes walk or whatever and see what you can find in that short distance

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all.

Following me and resteeming the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion, but you may have a better chance of receiving a Steem Basic Income Share if you do.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, resteem and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending @steembasicincomeshares to a selection of those who participate.

This weeks Walk, along 5th Ave by Central Park

For this weeks walk, I will share a few shots walking alongside Central Park on 5th Ave, it was like most mornings last week an overcast morning and a bit damp, but I had no meetings that morning so I decided to get off the train at 125th Street in Harlem and walk around Central Park a little, this walk shows some of the things I saw along 5th Ave where I walked before heading into Central Park, the Strip where I took these shots is called Museum Mile, but the Museums are on the other side of 5th Ave from where I was walking and hence do not feature in this post.
The footpath here as you can see in this first shot is cobblestoned.

Next up is this memorial to W.T Stead who was an English newspaper editor

Then I came across this Feauture at one of the entrancs into the Park, Central Park has so many things of interest but not onlty in the park itself, but on the outskirts of the park as I am sharing in this post

This next shot is just in the park a little off 5th Avenue and by some stairs up to the pathways around the Onassis Reservoir, and is in Memory of JOhn Purroy Perdue who was the Mayor of NYC from 1914 to 1918

Steem Basic Income give away

I mentioned in the guidelines that from this week I will be sponsoring a few who join the #wednesdaywalk challenge with shares on Steem Basic Income

What is Steem Basic Income you may ask well here is how they explain it

Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content. so I have decided to send some Steem Basic Income shares to 5 people selected through a random draw so on the weekend all people who joined in last weeks Wednesday walk. @annephilbrick, @molometer, @quotes-haven, @brittandjosie, @goat-girlz, all people who joined in last weeks Wednesday walk . And a special bonus this week @elizacheng will send one SBI share to @bashadow,

I would love to be able to give everyone who joins a Steem Basic Income share, but I don't make enough steem each week to do so, but I will try and share them around fairly between those that join the challenge

I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

I can not believe how huge you #wednesdaywalk tag is taking off. I love being able to visit the world from my arm chair through the eyes of real people.

Here is my small walk from yesterday -

Me to I never expected it to get so busy, but I to love seeing all the walks from around the world

thanks for joining again this week :)

Looking at those cobblestones makes me think of my time in Germany in the service, and that lower perspective shot came out really nice! Fifth Avenue, Central Park; as I have mentioned many times... you make New York look beautiful! Mr. Mitchel's Memorial was quite amazing, and the Fauture (though I am sadly unaware of that word means) at the entrance to Central Park, is a beautiful display of craftsmanship. Awesome photographs, as always my friend. Thanks for taking us with you on your #wednesdaywalk...

Here is my walk from today:

Fauture is just me making a typo I meant Feauture LOL

Although I am a country boy at heart there are many nice areas in the city for sure

thanks for your visit and support ;)

Awesome photos along Central Park. I bet thousands of people walk by those spots every day and never take the time to notice. Great work!

Yes I do think your right so many people are in a rush to get where they are going and Don’t look around them at all and miss so many interesting things

Thank you! I really enjoy this challenge. And I loved your walk for this week. I never see Central Park except in movies. It's fun to see it from a non-Hollywood perspective.

Thanks you and yes often what we see in Obie’s can be such a contrast from what it is really like

A walk along 5th Ave and the Park. Fantastic. Thanks, Jay:)

It was a nice place for a walk was considering visiting the park again this morning but I was to tired

So, that's the famous 5th. Ave. Never been there. Thank you for sharing and letting me come along.

My pleasure and yes this is part of 5th but most people who visit head either to the other side of the road for the museums or further down for the shops

Sometimes that dog or cat level view can give a new perspective of things. I really liked that low view of the walkway.

Thanks I must try and do moe down low shots like that sometimes my body aches and I am just to lazy to get down low i must admit

I can get down low sometimes, but then I have to struggle to get back up, aging sucks.

Yes thats exactly my issue getting down is easy getting back up is indeed the challenge some days

That’s highly appreciated and I consider it as a birthday present I will join in again.
Greets Britt

Cool I ok forward to seeing your future walks :)

Beautiful walk @tattoodjay! The top photograph I really like
with the different stone paths and wall, looks like the mighty
tree roots are raising and lowering the cobbles. It also looks
like you got real low there to them! :-)
My walk.

Thanks @shasta, yes I did get fairly low with that shot and the plus was I was able to get up lOL

thanks for joining the walk this week :)

Those are such cool finds along 5th ave! I love the look of cobblestone (walking on it, not so and I adore the lion carving. Hope the gloominess clears up here in the Northeast some time before August! 😂

Speaking of clearing up, today was actually sunny for a change, so my walk was a bit brighter this morning -

Thanks, as always, for being such an awesome walking host. !tip

Your walk this morning was bright and fresh such a pleasure to read and view 👍😎👍

Sending tips with @tipU - how to guide :)

Awesome museum mile shots walking along side Central Park on 5th Ave. And here is my entry :

Thanks so much for joining in on the walk again 😎👍😎

I adore cobblestone sidewalks so it was a real treat for me to see them in your photos. Your walk along 5th Avenue sure was a nice way to start your day. Here is mine.

Thanks kindly and thanks for your joining in on the walk this week

Here's my very first entry to your challenge. What fun! And those are some amazing pictures of Central Park!

Thanks kindly and thanks for joining The Walk this week I love seeing the walks from all around 😎👍😎

The city looks so peaceful in these pictures. Living in the city offers so many opportunities for snapping some photos, never a lack of interesting things to record.

Ohh I could not live in the city to busy and hectic for me I come in from a coastal city in CT but I get to the city early while it is still quiet 😎

Commuting from CT and getting to the city when it is still quiet makes you a very early riser.
I love the peacefulness that comes with getting up early. I am out of bed most mornings by 4:30 and only have to listen to the birds chirping by 5:00
Get to bed early, most nights before 10:00 PM.
My Grandfather always said that an hour of sleep before 12:00 PM is worth 2 hours of sleep after 12:00.

Ohh yes I have been an early riser since my Early teens I started back then getting up at 4:15 to go for a bike to the Beth run and swim as training for rugby, and never got out of the habit of getting up at that time,i normallly catch the 4:45 or 5:03 train to get tot he city before 7AM
I must admit early mornings when most others are sleeping is my favorite time of the day

Up untillI hit 45 I was seldom in bed before midnight, but these days I to crash at 10 age is showing on me lOL

old-style roads are very attractive for walking (unless of course you are not in high heels :))))) very beautiful bas-relief at the entrance to the park !!! Have a nice day!!!!!

I do love the cobblestone roads and path but yes for some walking on them is such a pain, thanks for your visit and kind comments
